I got bored for a while, so I did stuff, in the mix of that I created this:
http://www.mediafire.com/?3gid8858cd6eba4
(slightly old screeny)
Unlike other 'Maze Editors' (That I know of), this one has select, shape tools, flipping and shifting.
Shapes are basic line, rectangle and ellipse (no fill).

Controls:
Mouse Wheel: Cycle Items (or palette)
Left Click: Add Items
Right Click: Erase Items
Ctrl + Click + Drag: Select Items
Ctrl + C: Copy Selection
Ctrl + V: Paste Selection
Ctrl + A: Select All
Ctrl + Z: Undo
Ctrl + Y: Redo
L + Click + Drag: Draw Line
R + Click + Drag: Draw Rectangle
E + Click + Drag: Draw Ellipse

This thing is awesome! I especially like size of the window, because that made editing huge special stages a lot easier.

Only one thing I'd like to know: This editor reminds of Mercury's Special Stage Editor, a lot. I'm assuming you made your's based of his one, right?

Kinda. It was a large inspiration.

Fantastic editor. The gui is very easy to figure, so I liked this editor a lot. But where do I found this before? I was already using this program at a week ago!
(Well, probably I'm using the Mercury's one.)

Ooh, I guess it is confusing. I made it a lot lighter to try and make it look different.

I fixed a problem. It was small, but hey, you might wanna re-download.

Right - clicking selections pastes it to the layout, but it deleted the item under the mouse still.

Wonder if this runs in Wine... but other than that, this looks epic from what I've seen! When I get off of my lazy ass, I'll take a look at it in my WinXP VM.

Why does no one ever make OS X versions of these sorts of programs *runs*

The first thing I thought when I read "Chaos Editor" was actually this, but that's probably just because I'm a big Chaos: The Battle of Wizards fan.

HOLY GOD WHAT IS UP WITH THAT.
What bugs me is that I have seen edited Sonic 2 special stages. tinfoil.gif
I hate to be the complainer but you'd think someone somewhere would have done something about it by now.
I wish I could...

Put in Sonic 2 support!! *runs*

Nah, I prefer Sonic 1.

Seriously, I like Sonic 1 best, MZ ftw! *I runs*

...yeah =(

Anyways!

As for this application, like I mentioned in the "General" thread, nice work, it's clean, clear and put together nicely with a few neat features, can't say fairer than that =)
