Just jome random pallet experiments I did, Vectors colors look really good on Eggrobo and the Sonic 3 Eggomatic.

It's an interesting idea but I'm trying to keep the game 'as is'. I can edit Eggman to use another pallette line to resemble his normal scheme more (as said how he is in S1 Amy).

* CURRENT PROGRESS *

* Jump dash works diagonal directions now (special thanx to MarkeyJester).
* Good ending fixed.
* Fully refined spin dash (oddly enough this seemed to fix some sprite problems here and there as well). Adding the dust sprite however corrupted the star post.

I might add in the title screen and then upload another revision.

Why not just do a giant CHARACTER in Sonic 1 hack, where all characters are present via options menu. That will solve everything then :P

I had an idea like this, but it never got off the ground.

Also oh snap, you got diagonal directions in? Awesome!

can't wait to play the newest revision! :D

PS: about the spindust, this morning Markey and me came to the conclusion that the only way to make the starpost lamp to work correctly is sacrifying the badniks small points sad.png

Hmm, maybe I'll just back track and take out the dust sprite. It's not hugely important anyway (Chaotix didn't use it anyway, having a strange particle variant).

Anyway, hopefully won't have to wait to long for the next revision. Also have been doing a bit of experimenting:

Already gotten the basic physics working (again thanx to MarkeyJester's coding). Might need to alter his descending speed however, along with his size radius. Wonder how hard editing the game's 'gravity' is.

And yeah, he does 'break' the game immensely. :D

Are they going to be in the same ROM or released seperately? Either way, that's pretty slick!

Thanx. :D

Separate projects, though inserting Charmy in a duo hack may be possible due to his small sprites.

This is an excellent hack! I love it when new characters get the Sonic 1 treatment.

One little bug: Underwater, the air bubbles don't come from Vector's mouth! They come from where Sonic's head used to be.

And another thing, if you plan on making another character hack, let me list all those that have been done already, and to what extent they were completed:

QUOTE
Tails in Sonic 1 - Flying 100% similar to Sonic 3, Sprites Sonic 2'ed.

Knuckles in Sonic 1 - Gliding and Climbing present, Pallete issues fixed.

Amy in Sonic 1 - New moves with hammer, new sprites in style of Sonic CD Amy.

Eggman in Sonic 1 - Running animation and...thats it. Collision/gameplay were never finished.

Mighty in Sonic 1 - Gameplay, Chaotix moves, and sprites all here.

Vector in Sonic 1 - New moves, sprites, and even a few Chaotix moves!

Espio in Sonic 1 - Spin Dash now his Twister move ala Chaotix, sprites all here.

Motobug in Sonic 1 - Sprites, acceleration, and gameplay all altered.

Metal Sonic in Sonic 1 - Sprites the only thing changed, and not all of them at that!

Mecha Sonic in Sonic 1 - Sprites and Spindash present, Collision rewritten for larger character.

Sally Acorn in Sonic 1 - New moves, altered gameplay, and sprites!

Needlemouse in Sonic 1 - Sonic in his original form, with sprite changes!

And here are characters that were Genesized but weren't in a strictly Sonic 1 Hack:

QUOTE
Shadow in Sonic Megamix

Chao in Project Shadow 2

Manic in Sonic 1: Brother Trouble

Sonia in The S Factor

Silver in the S Factor

Thats all I can find. Any more?

Scourge. Also Metal Knuckles has been a boss.

Just out of curiosity, how are you getting character statistics — this?

OMG!!!!!

Thank you thank you! Glad to know you got those working, and can't wait to try out the new version.

And seeing Charmy there = <3 And I love the fact that he's gamebreaking. XD

I suggested a while back that to balance him out, maybe you could make him SLOOOOW underwater.

it's hard to quite calculate the stats of the players in Chaotix solo due to the ring co-op physics.

The lobby has solo sections... though granted it doesn't have any loops or ramps. Also it's possible to lose your partner for a bit if you start running out of rings.

In fact, I'm surprised nobody has made a hack of Knuckles' Chaotix without the co-op stuff. I mean we have Sonic 3D without flickies.
I think that nobody who wants to is experienced enough with 32X programming to make it happen.

Try this code which can be found in the cheats section on the wiki
FFFCEA:000? Attachment To Partner Modifier (0=Not Attatched, 5=Attatched).

It makes it feel old schoolish.

The thing is Chaotix also seems to have much clunkier and heavier physics than the original games which makes it harder to define according to Sonic 1, which is much looser and faster in terms of controlling.

I found a Tikal in Sonic 1 hack. All she was was a sprite edit. Not very well drawn either. A bit too neon looking.

There is also a Ray (the flying squirrel) in Sonic 1 hack where he can glide. However he cannot climb like Knuckles or fly into enemies without getting hurt.

That pretty much leaves Charmy and Nack/Fang from the original 2D characters.

And maybe Bomb and Heavy if anyone actually cares about them.

Anything after that is pretty much diving into just retrocizing (new word I know) newer characters. Although Cream also started as a 2D character as well.
