The tape is from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uonle1a3uK8

Found it in Super Potato in Akiba back in January in perfect condition. It has the Sonic 3 logos all over it, no idea what it was till I got back to America. I'll throw some scans or something up later. Is anyone looking for it for a collection/reference/better quality?

Japanese man shouting and talking very quickly!
heh, this is sweet, didn't see anything 'new' but it's cool to see how sega were presenting themselves back then.

If you can get a better rip than the one currently available, please do! Good VHS rips can be hard to come by.

We have a rip on the wiki, but it isn't that great, so yeah, if you can get a nicer version that'd be swell.

While we're on the topic of obscure VHS tapes, I really want to see a rip of that FUSE gaming magazine VHS. The host visited the Tokyo International Forum for the unveiling of Sonic Adventure. It used to be on YouTube, but the video doesn't work anymore. sad.png

That was rather enjoyable, didn't understand what the narrator was saying at all but the video itself was entertaining.

This has been available for quite a while and someone hasn't translated it yet?

You mean this FUSE Magazine video?

It's still on YouTube.

I'll actually have a new Sony VCR/DVD player by the end of this week, so I can recapture this along with the Sonic 2 and Sonic the Fighters promo videos like I promised two years ago.

Swear I see 480p rips of this video all over the place. This one certainly isn't perfect, but it looks better than the copy on the wiki. If there are any problems with obtaining something of higher quality though, I've also got this tape.

That's a pretty damn clean rip.

Actually, the more I think about this: I can usually snipe these VHS tapes for under 10bux; anyone here interested in doing this sort of things on a regular basis?

Also: I have a few promotional DVDs I'd like to rip; is there any way to do this, menus and all?

I have a professional SVHS machine with a time base corrector. If anyone needs any PAL VHS rips, I can do these free of charge.

I have a copy of this at my parents house. I kept meaning to take it to a VHS>DVD store and then rip it.

Pretty cool video.

You can do that easily with DVDShrink. You can make an exact copy and even remove any region locking.
