And the price for the game is (drumroll) ...$10. Come on now, it's been over a year. Not even dropping it to like $5 as well? Sonic CD has more content for half the price... never mind playing better.
Ugh, I guess I hope we'll wait for the bundle to come out then. I want to also buy Sonic 4 since ya know, PC and everything... I only played the Wii one, but yeah, 10 bucks... ... Bundle it damn it.
Just in case someone wonders: it's the same old Episode 1. Same graphics (not the "updated" one from the iPad version), same physics, same music, no difference whatsoever from the 360 version.
Best PC version ever. That's not just jpg compression, it actually looks like that in-game. There are no anti-aliasing options. (though I can probably force it through the NVidia control panel) Hell, there are no settings at all besides resolution.
That doesn't look like aliasing problems, more like something upscaled. EDIT: A dolphin shot could probably serve as comparison.
So Sonic 4 continues its shameful trudge, only now uglier than before... if at all possible. They didn't just port the Wii version's graphics right?
>No AA >Models have sharper edges than the pixelated landscape >Landscape is JPEG >Return of harsh lighting Um... What. Wow. WHY. No wonder the PC version of Generations was ported by Devils Details.
iPad version, Sonic 4 HD. And it still exists- on the iPad. I don't know why they didn't use the updated lighting and textures in the PC version. Well no, we all know it was laziness, but still. It couldn't have been that hard to adjust.
Its very clearly a port of the HD version (Probably 360) But it looks like a bare minimum port. I didn't expect much more than this honestly. Just gotta wait for the modding community to force some AA along with the other mods we needed anyway... EDIT: Also I was under the assumption the iPad version was going to be updated relative to the iPod. Theoretically that should mean the HD version is still the best looking so it wouldn't make sense to use the iPad version as a port base
I couldn't remember if it was the iPad version, Android or both. Thanks though! I dunno why either, the iPads texture/lighting on Sonic actually looked better.
EDIT: Also I was under the assumption the iPad version was going to be updated relative to the iPod. Theoretically that should mean the HD version is still the best looking so it wouldn't make sense to use the iPad version as a port base But the iPad version is already HD and looks the best!
All the ports of this game share the same assets (just with different variations of quality of course) as far as I could tell. This port has the added benefit of not having all the game's assets contained in one cpk file, besides music and sound. In theory, simply copying and pasting the files over from the other ports should work. Work, as in, it should do something and not break the game at all. Overall this port is pretty obviously rushed, no surprise there. But what can you do? The cash cow goes moo, anyway. But don't get me wrong - it's not a bad port, it plays exactly like the console versions. But that's all you're getting here.
Like hell it does. The various background layers are all clumped together into one. Looks ugly as shit in motion.
Why are you people buying this garbage? I bought it once and regretted that. I feel like it only supports this trash.
It's not perfect and I'll agree doesn't deserve the name of Sonic 4, I still think it's really not that bad of a game. To me most of the hate has been hyperbole. I won't buy this version but I've already bought it both on 360 and iOS.
