Why does Sonic have his modern look in Sonic 4, when it is a game set after Sonic 3 & Knuckles?

If it's after then there is no problem, if it were before S3&K now there would be something to worry about.

I never saw anything say that a Sonic plot comes RIGHT after the previous one, so I really don't see the issue here.

Hmm, so Sonic 4's on the PC...call me when you lot mod better gameplay and Classic Sonic in so I can call this a somewhat truer-direct sequel after I install them =P

Sonic Generations. :P

What does Generations have to do with it?

If Modern Sonic taught Classic Sonic the homing attack at the end of Generations, then that would explain why he has it in Sonic 4. I just assumed that due to all the time-fuckery in Generations, it set off a split timeline (like Zelda) after Sonic 3, with Sonic 4 coming afterwards instead of Sonic Pocket Adventure. But who knows, that's just me speculating.

I asked for the Sonic 4 modding topic to be re-opened. If you guys want to showcase any mods or hacks, feel free to post over there as well!

It all comes back to the simple fact that not everyone has the ability or desire to mod their game consoles. The PC version is the first version that's easy for everyone to mod. So let him have his fun.

But it's Polygon Jim! Not being a pretentious asshole is unhealthy for his mind!

That said, at least this game is getting mods applied to it that make it more amusing than unbearable. How far off do you guys think music hacks are? Now that I listen to it again, Sonic 4's soundtracks sounds like just pure NOISE sometimes, and that synth is used in almost every song, causing my brain to think it's all one continuous aggravating "song."

I'm beginning to think this game's going to be the 2D version of SADX PC: only fun once you mod it (except SADX PC wasn't all that bad).

That topic was closed? I don't ever remember it being closed.

As soon as I find my notes, I'll post a complete list of the Object Values. Something to help you guys out or something.

Topics are auto-locked after they've been dead for a certain amount of time. And cheers for that. I'm really curious actually dig into the game and properly mod it. Model swaps on compatible models are the most that can be done at the moment. The only tool I have that works is an AMB unpacker, which is practically useless on its own.

Yeah topics get auto-locked after awhile of not posting in them but if you ask a mod they will re-open it for you so long as the topic isn't too old.

Wasn't someone working on a level editor for the wii version at one point? wonder if their work can be converted over to the PC version?...

People, I've made a complete rip of the tracks on the PS3 version, and got the iPhone tracks that were missing (only CSz Act2 Point Challenge) from the partner net rip bxaimc from hsccentral made.

This ost is complete with 42 Files including all zone themes, their respective Powersneakers versions (excepting the iPhone track which didn't have one), menu and level select themes, fanfares, jingles etc.

The music is in MP3 48000Hz 256kb ABR looping twice and with a fade of 10 seconds (excepting the Powersneakers themes that fade after the loop).

They come with this very simple cover I fastly wiped up just so it looks more official it even comes with blurred lorem ipsum at the bottom! :v:.

Now, ENJOY THE SOUNDTRACK!

Nah, the Wii version were just sequenced tracks trying to mimick their streamed counterparts. And I don't know of any beta track o.o

Well, a couple didn't even try to use the same patches and just used generic-MIDI-esque instruments, e.g. the first boss theme reused from Sonic 3D.

The one I included was from the beta CSz Act 2 Point Challenge just because it's better quality than the iPhone version anyway it's complete already xD.

That's pretty cool! Just curious, what are the chances of a 320 version?
