Anyway, this hack is... weird. I was standing next to a ring, and it killed me! I didn't even touch it! WTF? Also, I can't get past the first curved wall.

Yeah, the collision box is a bit bigger than the red rings' sprites. So you've gotta be careful.

It's hardcoded into the object IIRC.
