We all know the Sonic Simulator stages contain "throwbacks" to Sonic 1 levels. Well, here's a full list:

1-1: GHZ1
2-1: MZ1
4-1: SYZ1
5-1: LZ1
7-1: SLZ1
3-2: SBZ1

So, first acts of each zone. Yeah.

67 Red Rings left, and no school next week. yeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhbbbooooooooiiiiiiiiiiii

@ Jay T. : For me, that's on the borderline between awesome coincidence and obscure reference. That's pretty cool regardless though.

I think it's supposed to be reference. The ironic thing from what people have said is that the one supplying the Japanese voice for the Wisp Powers is the same as the one announcing those things in Kamen Rider. Pretty sneaky SEGA.

Not sure if this is well-known or not, but I just noticed - you can hit the final boss twice in a row if you boost after using the HA on him.

Yup. Another related tidbit: you also get a spiffy camera angle if you boost against the first claw instead of using the homing attack.

You folks should know by now that the forums screw up double dashes.

Anyways, that's pretty funny. You going to give Sega's game a bad review? Well, they're going to send you a huge fucking banner and there's nothing you can do about it.

In this, since the game is less boost-boost-SONICBOOM all the time, and enemies could be coming at you from a variety of different directions, the standard jump attack is more useful, but it's only rolled up at a certain distance from where it started. It's uncurled for a moment as it ascends, and more annoyingly at times, uncurls when it drops beneath a certain height—you can never jump-attack anything that's at a lower height than the low-jump, even if you're jumping at a lower platform.

Thus, if a Spiny is on the ground and you wish to kill it, jumping is suicide. Boost or slide.

Wrong.
Personally, I like the little uncurled hop that Sonic can do in Unleashed and Colors. I have no issue with it. Reminds me a bit of the uncurled Sonic 1 jump. wink.png
You're right that Sonic also uncurls in Colors during the descent phase of a jump. But I already told you how to avoid this here!

Again: Sonic does NOT uncurl if you KEEP THE BUTTON PRESSED.

Jumping on badniks the oldschool way can be quite fun and it's perfectly possible in 2D sections, but of course it would require insane skills in 3D sections, so the homing attack is still preferable there. Check this out, for example.

Same. I have a massive (not as much so as this though) Unleashed banner which used to be outside my local ASDA (UK Wallmart) store. Its rolled up in my room because I have nowhere to put it.

Oh how lovely the irony is. Serves that douche bag right, out of the 34 reviews on metacritic, his is the only one deemed negative. (and 21 of them are positive :D )

78 average may not be glorious but it's still the best we've seen a Sonic game get for a long time from review sites.

Speaking of some game crits, not sure if this was posted (slap me if it already has) but everyone's (un)favorite critic tweeted about Colors two days ago and attests to the game having atleast some decent writing.

So I guess we can expect a review next week or in two.

1. AHAHAHA read the previous posts on the page, it's already been posted.
2. I fixed the link to not have a -- so that it'll actually work right.
