I don't get why everyone seems to have trouble with Terminal Velocity. I got 2 game overs on the other stages my first time through, but I didn't get hit once during that stage, or the final boss.
Sonic Colours out for Wii/DS No copyright law in the universe is going to stop Retro.

My guess is that they have trouble on the Yardrin or whatever chase. The secret is to build boost in the areas before then just jump his punches. When you get to the part where the Motobugs and it are swarming you, boost like mad. Instant win.

Honestly, I just don't like the quick-step controls.
Quick-step really should be mapped to the L/R buttons for GC/Classic Controller users, like Unleashed. Flicking the analog stick and having to re-center and press it back down each time feels awkward.

Exactly. Also, Terminal Velocity is my favorite stage. Plus, I got a S-rank in the first time I played it. It was my first S-rank. (I guess that's why it's my favorite stage =P) Too bad the entire stage is automated; but at least the music is boss.

Fuck the floaty jump.
The short jump needs fixing. I'm still losing rings because Sonic doesn't short jump into a ball.

Wasn't it like that in Unleashed as well?
It was, but there were rarely any circumstances where manually jumping on an enemy was an effective tactic.
In this, since the game is less boost-boost-SONICBOOM all the time, and enemies could be coming at you from a variety of different directions, the standard jump attack is more useful, but it's only rolled up at a certain distance from where it started. It's uncurled for a moment as it ascends, and more annoyingly at times, uncurls when it drops beneath a certain height—you can never jump-attack anything that's at a lower height than the low-jump, even if you're jumping at a lower platform.
Thus, if a Spiny is on the ground and you wish to kill it, jumping is suicide. Boost or slide.
EDIT: I almost forgot—another thing that makes it less of a problem in Unleashed is the lack of touch-damage. Enemies can't hurt you unless they're actually attacking, so even if you jumped into an enemy in an uncurled state, it wouldn't do anything but slow you down and you likely have time to attack the enemy before they attack you.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. Good point.
So I got an honest question now... Since Iizuka is now, like, the lead of Sonic projects and since he personally directed Colors and has been saying for months he wanted to make a 3D game to surpass Adventure 2 (which he also directed) and meet up with the classics and since he likely is going to stay the director of Sonic games...
What do you all think of Iizuka now? Also all of his pre-release claims?

I think all his claims were pretty bang on, Its not better that SA2 for me though, but thats only because there is no Chao garden
Why dose sega hate Chao? its like infinite replay value
I wouldn't mind that.
If something like that happened, I would have imported this instead of buying it when it was released here.

Am I the only one who never had an issue with the Quick-step? The only point I ever had trouble using it was in one of Planet Wisp's stages, and that was because my TV was too dark so I couldn't see what the hell I was doing.
To add a bit more to this post; What exactly does the Egg Shuttle do? Also (old question), to get Super Sonic, does it matter if I finish GameLand in single player or multiplayer? I remember reading it had to be done in Single-player, but I was wondering if it was actually important which mode it was completed in.

44 S Ranks, 180 Red Rings and 7 Chaos Emeralds later, this game is done.
"SUPER SONIC!"
Still sends a shiver through me as everything begins to die.
Official Sonic Retro review for the weekend very soon. I'm juggling a ton of other things too.

For me it was the Yadrin every single time. I got lucky in Aquatic Park, it wasn't even until Terminal Velocity that I figured out the pattern.

The motobug + interceptor part threw me for a loop and I was so occupied with quick stepping that I forgot I could jump there.

Also I really don't blame him for Sonic 4 as much as I do Dimps. It's their crappy Sonic Rush engine that made that game play like ass. Even in this game if you are going too slow up a wall you'll fall down. Sonic 4 should have been a Sonic Team project, but I digress.
Hm. Just because the physics weren't perfect doesn't mean it wasn'ta fun gaming experienced tailor to those who've never played any 3D Sonic or were not big fans of them. Yeah, I know, "THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY FIX THE PLATFORMING AND PHYSICS," I know, I know. But the game is still a really fun experience. Not worth $15, but still very fun and playable. Don't know how Colors compares yet, but the overwhelming majority seem to think that its worlds better. Fair enough. Also it's the most retro Genesis-y Sonic game to come out since S3&K (No, Sonic Advance is not the same, and it wasn't as good), so it's definitely got its own appeal distinct from Colors and most any Sonic games since S3&K.
But back to Colors. Want to play it, but don't want "Aww fuck I gotta do prawjekts" to spoil my fun.

Well, clocking at 12.5 hours of gameplay, it's me with 161 Red Rings in total. I'm so tired... But at least this game still isn't getting old yet. Super Sonic tomorrow!
Speaking of which, can you go super during boss fights? That would be cool.

Awww, lame.
Somehow I'm at number 8 in the top 20 for Tropical Resort Act 3, and I wasn't even trying. That's cool.

Okay, anyone else notice that the score and HUD in the sonic sim completely blocks your view during the 3D quickstep sections? It's so aggravating.

Okay.
Aquarium Park Act 4.
HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET THAT WISP AT THE BEGINNING?
I swear to god that the programmers were laughing their asses off when they put that there
