Mystic Cave by Ancara is linked incorrectly, it plays Hill Top Zone.

Thanks, updated with correct link.

Anyone know when or how the default music will be selected? Will it be a vote? After having gone through a few of them I think a few tracks stand out as clearly superior. To be honest, even though a vote is probably the way it ought to go, I am less democratic minded in this regard as I feel a lot of people may just choose a particular track for the wrong reasons. ScubaSteve's latest CPZ v3.3 found here, http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?sho...482&st=2280
is by far the best version of CPZ so far, however I don't think the introduction and conclusion will work in the game. I encourage him to keep working on it, as his latest version, which is not posted on this page, is currently superior to the others.

A vote sounds like a decent enough idea. Maybe a vote to see which are most popular and then the final say could be a vote between the major people on the project.
Whichever ones are used, they are all extremely excellent. Especially the music for Metropolis by Ransom Rath. It's such a killer tune.

My recommended playlist out of the choices in the original post:
CPZ1: Blast Processing
WFZ Main: Cinossu
WFZ Ending Cutscene: scubaSteve
, from 0:49 onwards; possibly slowed down and choreographed to the actions of the cutscene.
EHZ1 2P: Cinossu
EHZ2 2P: Tweaker
Special Stage: Compsense
2P Menu / Final Results: Cinossu
Race Results: scubaSteve

I've gone over this in the new music topic's OP, but I'll reiterate here:
When you post a submission, it must be in [zone name] [version #] [your name] format. I've got everything organized on my drive as backup, and I don't want any more confusion around who submitted what, and how many revisions they've put into a piece.

I wonder if people have forgotten about ID3 tags.

What are ID3 tags?
Kidding, no need to explain, but I never used them lol.
Ok! Hidden Palace Zone - Version 8 - Master Emerald - MP3 320kbps

I don't think ogg vorbis files support id tags.

Actually, OGG files support them. I'm not sure what players do, however, I certainly know that Winamp does.

Hmm, well I don't have a ton of ogg files lying around that I use in winamp frequently so I wasn't sure.

I use Winamp as my default player. When a track just lists 'Minor Fixes IV' for the title and 'Hidden Palace Version 7' for both the artist and album artist, there's not much that can be done to figure out who did it this long after its initial submission. Thus, people can put their names into the filename itself. It's a simple addition and makes things simpler to organize. It's not that much to ask.
