Guy confirms that work was done by Michael Jackson, but is unsure as to how much (if any) was kept.
Of course, Roger Hector already confirmed that Wacko worked on music for Sonic 3. Two years ago.

Unsatisfied with the sega sound? What an elitist douche; it sounds great.
The large library of awful Genesis soundtracks says otherwise.
Don't list me a few games either, I can list 10 bad ones for every one game you name.

Confirmed: SEGA Genesis has a shitty Soundchip. Super Nintendo reigns supreme yet again.
Eat it Genesis fags.

I knew it. There was never really any doubt in my mind. There were just too many similarities with MJ's music for it to be just coincidence.

Yay, I'm glad we finally have solid proof! I never doubted it, though.

^Is the way this makes me feel. It REALLY turns me on.
I'm not surprised old sound limitations were frustrating for MJ to handle though. He comes from the world of vinyl records and high quality microphone studio recordings. It's quite a contrast from the limited sound a Genesis could produce. It is cool to hear though that Stranger in Moscow is indeed the credits music. I mean it was always obvious, but having it confirmed is just fantastic.

Michael Jackson may not have liked the fruit of his labor on Sonic 3, but I certainly appreciate it. The music of Sonic 3 has stayed with me for years, and the tunes from it never get old.

Holy fucking shit, it's true!
I'm mostly amazed by the fact that the credits were indeed a base for Stranger in Moscow.

Okay so now that no one is replying...
a) Remember, Sega staff said that it was because of the child molestation allegations. Who knows who's right?
b) This is solid evidence FOR ONE SONG . All bets are off for the rest of the soundtrack.
c) We have five other composers to watch for.

Well yes and no. He mentioned that he had worked on it but said that all of the music was scrapped from it and that it was due to the lawsuit MJ was facing. This isn't the case though as we can see. There's absolutely music in Sonic 3 that MJ worked on but who knows if the lawsuit is what stopped him from putting in credits or his taste.

Seeing how Micheal hated how his music turned out we never would have got this answer until after he died.
I also want to remind people of how some Sonic 3 music was changed in Sonic & Knuckles collection. I think we can correctly assume that is Micheal Jacksons music and the rest is Howard Drossin.
