(EDIT - Inflammatory -T)
|
A few months back, I downloaded the world famous frustrating SMB1 hack. A few days after that I downloaded a level editor for SMB1 and set to work.
This is my result. It's only one level long, which is why all levels after the first one are the same as the original hack's levels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0XsEWzJPoE An 8:30 long video of me playing through this level, and dieing... A LOT. Spoilers inside, of course. This post has been edited by Katelynn: Nov 7 2009, 01:04 AM |

I never got these 'hard' hacks that are just shoddy ways to show off the glitches in the game, most of wich you need to use Tool assisting to get past. Now if you made a game that didn't consist of falling onto blocks and making blind jumps. But then again there might be people who like this punishment, T'each their own, I guess.

"It's -a- me, Mario!"
|
Wow. Now THAT'S what I call hard. It doesn't look like even Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels could match up to THIS hack's level of difficulty.

Actually, I didn't find this one too bad. Playing on-and-off, I beat it in maybe an hour (with savestates). The main thing I had trouble with was the section with the giant fire spinner just before the moving platform. It took me a while to figure out you had to glitch through the wall.
Not bad, though. You might consider extending it. EDIT: Having watched the video, I realized that what I did was actually unintended. If you go to the section I mentioned, you can run right and left repeatedly to scroll the screen far enough for Mario to be able to jump and get stuck between the gap in the screen and the bricks. From there, you can hold left and jump through the wall. I'm not sure what you can do to fix that. This post has been edited by SupperTails66: Nov 8 2009, 08:49 PM |

Put Together The Wrong Way
|
I never understood the point of making hacks like this. It's probably because I don't get any enjoyment out of them. Making them so frustratingly hard that you have to be perfect with a little luck? No thanks.
