Thanks for that, I wanted to see what Act 3 was all about but there was no way in hell I could do Act 2's boss.

Act 3 is amazing. It reminds me slightly of Cannon's Core from SA2 where you play as Sonic. Except with more fire and less time to explore. If you got some better art into this, it would be immense.

Act 3 reminds me of Star Wars and Star Fox.

I haven't given it a proper play yet, but does nobody instinctively roll when they hit a loop? I thought that was the done thing

That's what I usually do, but I found just running the loops a lot faster and easier on this.

you don't get the extra speed on the loops by rolling in Sonic Boom. It's always in your face. <3

After watching Tweaker's play through, I find it bewildering that he does not agree with me.

I don't! I may have run into a few cheap shots here and there, but that same kind of stuff happens whenever I play a Sonic game. Me getting pissed at flinging myself into things without foresight or the occasional design flaw doesn't make me irrationally hate the game—it just makes me want to improve my skill to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I have a ton of fun every time I play Sonic Boom, and at the end of the day, that's really the most vital quality that makes it so brilliant in my view. Seldom do I find games—let alone hacks—that I just enjoy anymore. It's original, it's well put-together, and it radiates the kind of quality and hard work that, quite frankly, I have never seen to such an extent anywhere else in this community in a very, very long time.

Like it or not, Sonic Boom excels at what it does; if you don't like what it does, that's perfectly fine, but at the end of the day, to say it's badly designed is just to delude yourself and everyone else horribly. This hack deserves better than that and so do the people who literally poured their blood, sweat, and tears into it.

Another peeve of mine for this, currently, is some of the art used for text.. like the title screen text, it looks really odd to me.

If this is allowed, can I post a suggestion for it? (Instead of a "change x it's rubbish" "you do better then")..

current..

.. to this. :x

EDIT: the other text I don't like is the "Sonic escaped.." "Sonic destroyed.." etc, that font looks really out of place IMO.. but I don't have a suggestion right now other than matching the titlecard.

I liked it and it's certainly great technically. However, there are a few things I think can be improved on: The background art is looks like a bland version Metallic Madness present. The Death Egg lightning floors are placed too close to the top of some of the loops and can sometimes hit you when you're going past then even when doing over a thousand miles an hour. The second encounter with King Orbi is close to being a hack ruiner, Orbi being completely solid at all times is one of the main reasons for this as he makes escaping his attacks very difficult at times. The fight also feels completely random, aside from the attack he does every 4(?) hits, which is a relief from the chaos that is the rest of the fight, especially when he gets low on health where it pretty much gets overwhelming. That said, the payoff was one of the most fun stages I've played in any Sonic hack I've played.

Wow, really? You think I'm "deluding" myself into thinking that this game isn't fun? Do you think I have some kind of personal vendetta against the people who made this?
