I really hope that they're continuing to port this game means they're still considering a sequel. I want one to exist badly, and every time this thread gets a significant bump my hopes are raised.
Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing no lie.

So basically everything I said that they need to do they're just going to ignore for the sake of laziness. Good job team!

I'm out of the loop but....was SSASR really that good? I've always looked at it as a moderately decent cash-in, but I've only played a demo.

Good to know. Is the Wii version comparable to the PS3/360 versions? If it is I'll probably pick it up.

The Wii version is a direct port of the 360 one so it's just as good, but the controls are a bit worse in my opinion just because the controller isn't very comfortable to me.

Well, except the Wii version has fanart of Sonia instead of Amy on one of the textures.

The Gamecube controller works on it, right?
Nope. Wiimote only, Wiimote+nunchuck, or Classic Controller

Anyhow! ASR Arcade. What's there to know? Well, the game is roughly 85% done (should be ready by March), and has been tweaked slightly and cut down for the arcade. Characters not included are Knuckles, Big, Zobio and Zobiko, Alex Kidd, Opa-Opa, Mobo and Robo, and the Chu Chu Rocket lot (also the console exclusives, duh). Courses that were definitely cut include Ocean Ruin, Roulette Road, Thunder Deck, Icicle Valley, Lava Lair, Treetops, Monkey Target, Rokkaku Hill, Rocky-Coaster, Sewer Scrapes and Deadly Route. Also, none of the DLC stuff made it in.
So they took all out the good stuff in the game.
Welp, got no urge to play it in arcades!

For an arcade racer it sounds like the game is still full of meat, plenty of stuff there (again, for an arcade game)
Glad to hear Ryo was left in.
I'd love to play this at some point but I doubt I'll ever find a booth anywhere.

Seeing as it coughs up tickets, Gameworks is likely to pick some machines up. I just found out the one down here still exists.

Very much this. 13 courses and 13 racers is huge for an arcade game. Sega Amusements Europe's last game, GRID, features just nine courses and that's way more than the other racing games Sega is selling - Sega Rally 3 has five, while Hummer and Harley Davidson each have four. Four is actually a pretty standard number: Namco's Dead Heat Street Racing and Konami's GTI Club also feature four each.
Some arcade racers do feature larger numbers of courses, but these tend to be games with save functions from long-running series such as Initial D, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, Battle Gear and The Fast and the Furious. Save functions are unfortunately not popular in Western arcades, unless they are effort-free on the operator's behalf (see the keypad system used in The Fast and the Furious series).
I'd love to play this at some point but I doubt I'll ever find a booth anywhere.
Your profile says you're near London, and I reckon you'd be able to find one there no problem. Just wait until it comes out (which should be in March).
