Heh...
Congratulations Chimpo. This is the exact reply we all expected from a leader
[/sarcasm]

I really don't understand you.
We were bitching out for months about a damned pixel, but after the Mar 1 2009 (the date you changed the forum again) we stopped doing this, and actually started to do our job.
Then, for reasons unknown, you went away, only to return today and erase every topic you created, basically erasing the whole project.
We stopped bitching, but you leaved.
We worked, but you didn't.
You turned this into Sonic Chimpo, but then stopped caring.
And know you kill the project.

No.
Sorry but I'm not accepting this.
Project: Sonic Retro had the chance of being something special. A fangame, true, but a fangame aimed to exactly understand and replicate what makes the 16-bit titles what they are.
This is something that if I saw on any other forum beside this I would have laugh a lot.
But not on this one. Here, the best programmers (the one who can replicate the Sonic engine on every programming language, improving it to its limit), the best musicians (the ones who understood what makes a music a Sonic music, and can compose them by themselves), the best artist (the one which can create sprites and artwork that can't be distinguished from the original) are all together, in one forum.
This was the only community that could have made this possible.
DAMMIT. Am I truly the only dreamer here?
Am I truly the only one who believed for a moment we could make something special, and not just the usual fangame?

No. I refuse to accept this.
You think to give us the guilt of the project death, thinking you haven't any responsability. But you're wrong.
You give up? Fine, but don't bring the project with you.
We can't use your things anymore? Fine, we will create our own sprites (or create even better ones. Finally we will not use that horrible sprite anymore).
I'm not the only one who wants to still work with the project, and we all will keep this project alive.
I want to keep the project alive, even if that means I'll be the only one to do things.
Sonic Chimpo is dead, but Sonic retro is not.

Heh... Who am I kidding. This is not a decision we have to take. It is all in the hands of the higher-ups.
What can we truly do alone? We don't even have the ability to create new topics!
There just couldn't had been a more stupid way to kill this project.

It seems that there's trouble regardless of who leads it (obviously referencing the past leaders of this project, including Sonic 4). I don't know whether or not this project is going to be handed over to a new leader and restarted yet again, I guess the only thing is to wait and see.

To be honest, I thought the main problem was the lack of contribution, there were only a hand full, lately, who had the talent to contribute to the project, I don't even think there were a great deal programmers who were willing to use the E02 Engine (Correct me if I'm wrong) This project, in my opinion, fizzled out. Yeah, it might be a good idea to have a completely fresh start, just not right now.

This idea sounded good on paper, but was executed horribly. We haven't advanced anywhere in a LONG time.

But this happened because the project lacked a true leadership.
You can't ignore this thing. Every project, to being able to go anywhere, needs a solid leadership. A leader must give his take on everything, not just when he feels to.

This is not something only Chimpo lacked.
Every past leader made a similar mistake. Each one different than the other, but they all did.

You guys are all blaming Chimpo for this, saying that he gave up and was making the project his own. But the truth is, you guys are all just stupid.

I didn't see much work going into this project; it looks like there were, like, a few posts a WEEK, with barely ANY containing some fresh, new, original content. You guys can't just sit around and criticize while other people do the work for you. And yet, you did. This project was practically doomed to failure in every incarnation; At first it was too strict, then it was too lax, and now that it seems to be at a good balance, nobody bothers doing shit. So... yeah. Yeah. Yeah...

The rest of this post is tl;dr

I was under the impression that at some period, Chimpo had to deal with some real life issues. After that, he saw that the forum was a "disorganized mess", and removed (not deleted, mind you) most of the topics, to give everyone a central focus. A good idea on paper, but...
...oh wait, you said today. Well, considering the lack of activity...

You turned this into Sonic Chimpo, but then stopped caring.
Allow me to regurgitate some facts; before Chimpo took over, there were constant clashes between what people wanted. Everyone has a different vision of a Sonic 4, after all. That is why the project became, as you eloquently put it, "Sonic Chimpo"; to steer everyone in one direction.

Let's stop this again. Now we need new leader.
And let's go back to business.

So Chimpo deleted all his threads? lol wow, that's something I expect a 12 year old to do.

Good going Chimp.

That's what I hope. This project seemed to be dead for a while now.
