I think it's interesting how many people think the coloring for 5 is better than 2 since they both have the exact same shader on them. Of course, the lighting does hit the thicker ring a bit differently.

The other frames in that are far too dark. I myself am partial to 2 and 3 for being the best ones, if anyone wanted to know.

Also, I really want to see these rings in action with everything in motion.

That looks decent but it's still pretty ugly (and way too dark) when animated.
The still frames look a lot better than the whole thing in action.


That said, and perhaps this is just from watching Aladdin one to many times (which had clashing 3D out the wazoo but I liked it), I'm not against the rings clashing a bit with the rest of the art in the game, especially since they're going to be in every level and having a coherent art style for the entire game just isn't going to happen.

Am I the only one that thinks that the only thing that should try to be like the original are the levels? (except for some things like the spikepits in Mystic Cave) Everything else should try to be better IMHO =P

Last I checked having a coherent style that wasn't LOL FLASHGAME was the biggest criticism of this project. Perhaps I've merely misread everything, though.

I dunno. I like the rings standing out a bit.
