Team Megamix likes to keep things under wraps until the time is ready to warrant an update. You could be waiting another six months before something gets made available to the public, such as a video or piece of music. Not every hack has to have regular updates you know. Some hacks don't even need to be in the public eye and they're still of good quality.

Hey guys! I have a great idea! How about you all just let people ask their questions and quit bitching about thread bumps! Genius plan, innit?

Just to answer the question here, we have stuff, but we'd much prefer them not to be revealed, because frankly as stealth mentioned in this thread's first post:

...There is no way we can possibly make another non-final release and keep it substantially fresh. Trust me - you'll thank us when you have much more to play with all at once than one level at the end of the game and a couple of menu text changes...

Our policy is and will always be to reveal information about this project on our own terms and nobody else's. When there's more information about project changes that we're willing to share, you'll know. Until then, asking is rather futile.

This is not a question regarding updates... I just really want to know how to unlock the sound test screen that has all the notes playing and stuff. Not the one on the options screen, the other one that has the entire layout of the instruments... Not sure how to really describe it... but you are all smart, you know what I'm referring to.

Highlight the Sound Test option in the Options screen and press START.

Not to be a jerk, I know the admins will get pissed off if they know this is a bump but here goes:

At the title-screen (It has to say press start otherwise it wont work), you press 'up', 'down', 'left', 'right', 'A + enter' (a chime sounds), then 'A + enter' again. You're now at the Level Debug selection.

Now you want sound, press up until SND *00* is selected. Press 'enter'. Presto.

You know the basic controls, left and right to navigate. D to choose (if you using gens) up and down to skip sound by 10.

Edit: FraGaged way is easier. I feel like a complete idiot for missing that.

Alright, I've been holding off from bumping this topic by replying, but since someone just did yesterday, here goes. First of all, let me compliment you on this awesome hack. Like others, I agree that this hack is uber pwnage and is the most epic, daring hack of Sonic 1 ever! So many new levels, characters, ideas, and extreme engine tweaks. You guys are the 1337 hackers of Sonic!

And I love where you are going with the new SLZ design that was shown in that video some months ago. That tune is very catchy (especially the Fresh Prince of MegaMix remix, lol. Someone should make another Fresh prince remix based upon S1MM). I can't wait to see what that "Soned2 spalsh screen" sound effect is about, and about the new Special stages. The only cons I can think of about S1MM is that there is no original music, and that the levels are somewhat linear. Other than that, this is uber pwnage.

Just out of curiosity, does Team Megamix plan on making Sonic 2 Megamix after S1MM is done? And do you guys plan on releasing .mp3s or .vgms of the S1MM OST once you are done? That would be awesome if you would.

We abandoned Sonic 2 Megamix a long time ago. If it's any consolation, the original team (and content) that was made for S2MM ended up becoming Sonic 2 Retro Remix, so it's not like you're missing out on anything.

To elaborate, a Sonic 2 Megamix would pretty much make no sense because the scope of the original Sonic Megamix went far beyond what was originally intended, encompassing elements from every Sonic game in the process.

Just pretend the current Sonic Megamix is also Sonic 2 Megamix.

And Sonic 3 Megamix v.png ... that one did exist... right?

Anyway, I think we shouldn't keep bumping this thread, at least until you guys feel ready to release some news, looking forward to them.

Well no, that's not why I didn't want to do it. It's just annoying enough trying to finish one game. =P

Now that's just nonsense. This thread is for discussion after all. You're welcome to express your opinions of teasers you've seen, as well as early builds and other such things.
