Quick, someone fix the "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games" article on Wikipedia!
Done!
I'm a bad bad man!
EDIT:
It's back how it was... Unfortunately I didn't include a reference.

Try posting the picture on the Mega Turricane article, letting it sit there for a couple of weeks, then go again =P

Wow! I wonder why Sonic looks like he's based on his 8-bit appearance instead of 16-bit, seeing as the game was on Mega-Drive/Genesis anyway.
Also, Sonic was sort of in Donkey Kong Country, but his shoes alone don't count I guess.

Because chances are they'd want to use as little tiles as possible, and the Sonics from the MegaDrive games would be bigger than the player. They look as if they've been drawn from scratch anyway.
Also Mega Turrican came out before Donkey Kong Country 2 so it still has the title of "first licensed game to have both characters in".

Quick! Someone call Factor 5!
The Wikipedia article for Mega Turrican mentions that the Amiga version (Turrican 3) had a secret level become a regular level. Maybe that's the level Tiido mentioned?

I still have not managed to enter the secret level, I always get insufficient score to get there (no double 0)... and someone has broken the wikipedia article.

How cool, looks like they're in some hybernation chambers or something. Here's the graphics for Sonic reassembled, since some of them are separated from the rest:

That's cool! It's almost like the unused Mario sprite cameo in the Astal CD.

Hm, I wonder if Factor 5 was leaving us and the Mario fan base (Mario Retro? And do they know about this find?) some message to decode. What year(s) did the game series take place in?

Weren't Factor 5 respnsible for a couple of Star Wars Games for Nintendo Systems?
Talk about unintentional foreshadowing.

Hot off the presses just today (25 January 2009): http://www.screwatta...bmission/012509. A few discreet mentions:
- Mario and Sonic in the same screen in the title. As they come on, they look at each other. They are in their final positions in the final frame of the title animation, but looking the opposite way.
- "The game is filled with reds, yellows, greens blues." - Colors featured in both series. Mario: Red, blue clothes, green Luigi clothes, yellow buttons on overalls. Sonic: Blue, red bodies. Yellow torso/face on Sonic, green eyes on 3D Sonic and green socks on Knuckles.
- "Still one of the best games and a worthy addition to anyone's collection." Hm, similar to this being the third Turrican, and Sonic 3 and Super Mario Bros. 3 are considered the best in their series by many fans (though in the Sonic series, I see some CD guys; I'm a S3K guy).
- And isn't it kinda ironic that this video comes out in the middle of a discussion on the game?
