For me personally, it would have to be the atrocious error in stand-alone Sonic 3, where playing as Tails it is virtually impossible to complete the Ice Cap Zone due to falling through the ice at slide junctions, over and over again.

I only ever succeeded past it once.

Thankfully however, they seemed to correct this in Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

To avoid that glitch you just need to enter the special stage through the big ring hidden behind the wall right before the first slide. It's not possible to survive otherwise. I didn't check the actual coding for that, but I'm inclined to believe that they forgot to set the level to wrap itself vertically, so Tails dies when he reaches the lower Y limit. Entering and exiting the special stage instead correctly sets the wrapping flag.

Using Team Blast in Sonic Heroes and falling through the floor because of it. Only happened to me once, but it was on the last boss. :psyduck: Pretty lame.

The last boss doesn't have a floor, unless you mean the second to last one =P.

Nineko: I've never noticed that, just played it now and it seems you're right o.o

The second to last one, where you aren't super. Technically part of the final battle. :P

I just tested that. If you jump before falling down the first hole with one, you will pass by without dying, but if you just walk off and colide with that angle you will die. I also didn't know that one before.

That doesn't work. Even if you fly down there the glitch occurs.

You probably tried the glitch again after dying once and restarting at the star post, in which case the wrapping flag is set correctly.

It seems like it picks and chooses when it wants to do it. I tried several methods. some work, some don't. None of them involved the special ring

It really annoys me when I'm playing as Super Sonic in Sonic 3 alone. I usually manage to unlock Super Sonic before finishing Hydrocity Zone. At the Hydrocity boss Super Sonic just runs straight past the boss area to the capsule and I have to drown so that I can carry on playing.

Super Sonic Bug in Sonic 2

:psyduck: Whoever just grabbed the nearest Sonic 2 ROM for the XBLA version instead of that fixed one in Sonic Complimation.

Not rather annoying, since when I feel bored, I TRY to cause this glitch, but in Sonic the Hedgehog, Marble Zone 1, just after the first crushing thingies, you can cause the camera to move upwards, therefore bringing the level boundaries up with it, and kill Sonic.

I try causing it a lot. =P

I don't know if it was just in my specific Sonic 2 SMS cart, but when I first got it there was a lovely bug in Sky High Zone Act 1, right near the end of the act. I'd fall down from gliding to the bottom of the screen and, naturally, lose all rings, but then I'd jump to get out, and if I was over the floor by the end of the level, Sonic would just start spinning in midair, and the only thing I was able to do after that was turn left and right, and eventually just turn the console off. Very infuriating at the age of 7, believe me. :P On that cart I could do it without fail, but I took it back for a replacement and I haven't been able to reproduce it since.
