![]() Tweaker doesn't like LOW CONTENT posts. So let's talk about the image then. Here, we see an apt description of what happens every time a new Sonic game comes out since SA2, pretty much. It applies to 2k6 most of all, but also to an extent to Secret Rings, SAdv3, Sonic Rush, and Heroes. Okay now I feel retarded. This post has been edited by Wetflame: Sep 20 2008, 07:05 PM |

Man, we should all just have hope this time. I still think Sonic and the Black Knight is an excellent idea, and unleashed is looking well-polished based on the videos.
Sonic games are going to be milked to death no matter what, but a rising star has to come out of the festering pile of shit that we have right now. We still have the excellent Advance and Rush series, and the Sonic RPG seems to be nostalgic and awesome in its own respect. |

Actually I think Sonic RPG will crash and Sonic Unleashed is the current 'possibility'.
Still, the original image was different. I wonder what happened to it. |

13. No relaying.
That's the same message as the picture that vaguely resembled the Sonic Heroes logo (the one with the spelling errors) contained, and I'm pretty sure we decided that it wasn't funny anymore. SatBK could be cool or suck, we still don't know much about the game. We'll see. |

Sik is pronounced as "seek", not as "sick".

Actually I think Sonic RPG will crash and Sonic Unleashed is the current 'possibility'. And sadly, it's very likely that the final success will be the reverse way (Black Knight and Chronicles being a total success and Unleashed a total failure). Why? Because the people that buy Sonic games nowadays are like that =P |

And we're back

Pre New Sonic Games thoughts of Phos:
Sonic Adventure 1: ...the first time I heard about it was about 1 second before playing it (pre release DC). I should also mention SA1 is my favorite Sonic game. Sonic Adventure 2: Shadow looks too much like Sonic. And why are they getting rid of adventure fields? (SA2 killed the SOnic fan in me. I should thank it, because it means the following games didn't phase me) Sonic Heroes: Upon seeing it in Hollywood Video, I though, "Sonic... could be fun". It wasn't. I knew about from previously seeing... a single commercial on TV. Shadow the Hedgehog: Oh, what the fuck, a desert eagle? Sonic 06: I saw the "E3 2005 Closed Door Video" while it was briefly on either GameSpot or IGN (don't remember which) during the small amount of time it was on the site, I watched it half way through, then closed it saying, "Looks like the same shit since Sonic Adventure 2" Sonic Unleashed: watching the leaked trailer, "What, is this pre rendered? *Sonic beings running in side scrolling gameplay* ...oh... I didn't expect that!!!" |

That cycle has become a really tired meme.
And it only applies to Sonic 2006. We all knew Sonic Heroes was going to have friends from the very beginning, hence the title. We expected Shadow to fail the very second it was announced. I don't see how it applies to Sonic Rush since that game wasn't slammed in reviews. Secret Rings kept its promise to be a Sonic solo game yet it was still met with mixed responses. And we already know enough about Unleashed to make an educated purchase. What I am most concerned about is the controls. Shitty characters don't make a bad game, shitty controls do. |

See, the scary thing is that Bioware have never done a game ranking under 70% on gamerankings, and only a couple under 80.
At worst, it's going to be SURPRISINGLY GOOD. Which is scary. I'm not sure I want a "good" game with Furry drama. |

I've seen that image SO many times. Well, maybe not that exact image, but there were different images that said the same thing.

I have said that characters have little to do with the game being bad really, but they are a "sign" that it's not going to be great generally. |

Amen on tired screens.
But: 1) I don't fucking care if the game has 3000 characters combed from the Sonic, Mario, and Amazing Bible Adventures franchises. If the basic game engine sucks, so will the game. If not, it may not and it at least becomes a good start for hacking since it's stable. 2) I don't even really care about classic gameplay forcing itself into my new title. It's old, maybe a little stale. The only question is how long can the current Rush style sustain itself? I haven't played either Rush title or the Advance titles so I can't offer a well-educated opinion on that matter. I want it to play well, not the same as the Genesis titles. After the 3 games and countless hacks, I'm happy for a change. 3) The only game that's really hit this cycle properly is Sonic 06. Heroes I do enjoy quite a bit (though the game doesn't do enough to make each stage different in gameplay after the casino stage), and it didn't even have any new friends -- besides that, same old gameplay wasn't all that bad inasmuch as people here seem to enjoy playing as Sonic in the Adventure titles. Shadow was just Iizuka jacking himself off in terms of character inclusion, though the whole space alien drama thing is not the kind of thing I want in my Sonic game. Go watch GHZ act 3 and then some stuff from Shadow's game and story and you certainly can't help but feel that someone lost the plot somewhere, like people were watching that Felix the Cat movie from the '90s rather than the classic stuff, even the ones from the 50s with his magic bag. tldr Graph sucks, only really applies to 06, Unleashed looks better than 06 ever did, they shouldn't have bothered with 06 if they were also working on what seems to be the much more stable Hedgehog engine at that same time (a la Windows ME, an obsolete OS released after its time); it's not like Sonic 1 came out that early in the Genesis life span, blah blah blah This post has been edited by muteKi: Sep 20 2008, 11:18 PM |
