  1. Tanks discovered this and posted it in the chat (which is currently down), but I'm documenting it for him here and now.

Using Nitro Explorer 2, it's plainly visible that the 2005 Sonic Rush E3 demo has 7 zones.

And by swapping some of the dependencies, it turns out, they're playable.

Buggy, fucked up, but playable. Only this and Zone 7 will actually boot up and play, but as far as I can tell, Zone 7 is impossible beat. I'll post more as I find out about it.

update: The only playable levels in this are Zone 1 acts 1, 2, and the boss fight, as well as Zone 2 act 1, and Zone 7 act 1 is bootable, but not completable.

    - Zone 1 is for the most part, complete.
    - Zone 2 is playable entirely, but it has no badniks, none of the interactive objects, and the floating platforms are the same as the ones in Zone 1.
    - Zone 7 is broken.

    Update 2:

I've got the emulator to work with the rom finally, and it's ..."playable" on my computer. So, at the very least, here's screenshots:

    Very interesting, and the music?
    Post Videos!

  3. The music is still only the same one track that they have for the E3 demo (which is pretty splendid anyways).

    Videos later.

  4. Experiment: Swap level files from final into beta!

    No background!

    Loop-de-loop!

    ...solid wall!

The springs aren't as strong as the final, so you have to do the up+r trick to even go very far.

Here's 7-1 injected from the final into the beta:

    So broken. So. Very. Broken.

Why not do the inverse thing? Put the Beta zones into the final!

    Because then they explode! :3

(No seriously... I tried it... Fatal Exception...)

  7. Yep, same here, even on actual hardware, it crashes and burns.
