I think some slower, more repetitive music could cover the intro theme a bit better. Mikel used a few tracks from Crayon Shin-Chan in his hack Sonic Zeta Overdrive, which fit rather well—maybe you could do the same? A nice, laid back tune with a calm, surrealistic tone is just the touch you need, I think.

Since he remade Leaf Forest, maybe he could use the beta version in that trailer, It's much slower.

Also, why does this song in chemical plant sound so much different than the original? I know the song was used on 32x and this is megadrive/genesis...but can't you use the sonic crackers track? I think it sounds better than the Chaotix version too.

I love it. Awesome layouts. One problem-Cascade Valley A2 has alot of lagging issues, for me.
Btw, noobish question; for the intro level, what is the song? It sounds so familiar-yet I cant put my tongue on it.

It's leaf forest from Sonic Advance 2.
Took me longer to remember that Sonic World from Sonic Jam was the music for Cascade Valley 1.

Well, that is an excellent hack, the layers are awesome, the different remixes are good as well.
Looking forward to news about this hack...

The hack is amazing. I only played the Intro and Cascade Valley zone. The music is great, the layers and palettes are magnificent and the levels are really fast. Great job! :colbert:

I just recently played this on HackTube, and I must say that your level layouts are absolutely awesome. There are SO MANY alternate paths, it blows my mind. Every area is completely interactive in layout, if you think you know where your going, you may soon find that jumping changes that. I enjoy how absolutely non-linear it is.

well this hack is cool, all of the levels layouts are nice. I stopped playing afer casion night and thought this was great. Casino Night layouts was confusing at some points but, I finsh the llevel with ease. THe boss was to easy, maybe adding a pit in the middle would make it more challenging. THe rest was cool and the music was cool also. I wish tails was playable though but its cool.

The game plays itself.

No, not really. If you try to let it play itself, you get stuck. Just because it has intuitive layouts doesn't mean it plays itself. Seriously, I've played through the first world (After Intro Zone) about 15 times and I've never gone the exact same path. There are some places where the game gives you insane speed, but it's balanced well with places that require platforming.

Seconded. I attempted to play the game on fast forward earlier, and I found myself having a hell of a time getting through by just holding right. There are a lot of different places to go, and it's far from entirely linear as you claim.

Hell, I challenge you to find all of those emerald monitors by just holding right to get through the level. Not only will you not be able to beat through the first level (and I mean the first level, not the intro stage), but you sure as hell won't be getting the Chaos Emerald for that act. It's just not that clear-cut. That's what I like about the layouts in this hack—they're very well thought-out, fun to play through, and have a good sense of variety.

It's no Sonic CD, admittedly; then again, though, I wouldn't want it to be. I like it just the way it is. :)

Thirded. The layouts are great, and theres tons of paths to take. The thing I love about the layouts is they use momentum to get you to some of the paths, so if you don't start to roll before some slopes you end up taking a whole new path.

I stopped at Chemical Plant Zone, but so far, I'm very impressed with the layout. The first zone was extremely fun, and I found myself playing it multiple times (hence why I didn't get past CPZ yet, but I shall eventually). There are quite a lot of paths to take, and despite its speed, I didn't get any vibes that it was playing itself whatsoever. It was just plain fun.

My computer currently has no sound card, so I can't comment on the music choice. But I really like how this turned out. It was a big surprise too, since I hadn't heard of this hack until yesterday.

Found a glitch at Chemical Plant Zone.

Posted Image

Sonic got stuck behind the loop. You can kind of see where he is; you can see some of the blue pixels from the shield.

Hopefully, this wasn't just a speed glitch (I was going really fast), and can be fixed in the next release.

Just wanted to let you know. This game is a lot of fun, BTW. :(

Looks like a plane changer missing. I disagree though, this hack doesn't play itself. You CAN run and beat the level, but there's lots to explore.
