I already knew the layout from having played a far earlier version months ago. :p
EHZ's new pallette and music are awesome, I just don't like CPZ's colours (the music is good though).
And yea, I was pretty surprised to see the new HUB. Nice one.

Just played it, fucking awesome work with the overworld system and the layouts were brilliant, although I didn't like those two platforms in the EHZ boss, unless you're going to port in the S1 GHZ boss, I suggest you'd ditch those platforms.
As well as that perhaps use Giant Rings in the Overworld, perhaps you could add "1" & "2" respectively.
Overall, great work & I'm looking forward to your next release.

I must say, this is impressive. Sorry for the late response but I always have 328189 betas on my desktop and I somehow overlooked this one, shame on me.

However I like where this hack is going, the overworld, the music, the layouts... Let's see how well you can do with the other zones, but if you can whip up enough stuff in a month and a half I think this will get some prizes...

This is a WIP for EHZ. I'm lacking an idea for the wall/ground patterns. Some suggestions and comments are welcomed.

It's looking good, just remember to change the shadows for the grass.

By the way, the link doesn't work anymore. =\

Gave the Beta a Small Playthrough, and its looking great. Also, the new EHZ Art is simply awesome.

nineko, you can remove the mirror if you want. The first post had a BBCode error leading to the wrong URL, and that's now fixed.

I felt like I was playing a pinball game instead of a Sonic game, but it's all good. Very clever and insane design!

The only problem I had was with the overworld. I kept jumping into the rings and having to replay the zones over again. I'd say, either change the position of the rings or make a cancel combo to exit a zone and return to the overworld (I'm sure the latter is out of the question, but I know nothing about hacking and whatnot).

Wow the new art definitely has that "Official Sonic Level Art" feel to it, however the background/cave bit kinda' sticks out a bit because of the "Cut-off" lines since it keeps going from a light shade to a Dark shade, to a light shade and so on. Maybe small rocks, such has the ones in Hidden Palace (Sonic 2 Beta) would fit? It would vary from the simple shapes of the ground underneath the grass.

I gave the beta a shot, and I must say that this has A LOT of potential. I love the choice of music (esp.Emerald Hill Zone's Music), and the layout and game play. I like the overworld and the layout for the overworld as well as the actual levels. I don't think collecting little rings are the way to go, however. If you could port a giant ring, to take place of the little rings, I won't accidentally collect one, and have to redo the level.

After playing with such great pallettes, I'm not sure where the new EHZ art is going, but I'm pretty sure it'll still be great.

Eh... the foreground tiles are too distracting and I don't like how the background stays in place the whole time.

It's a nice start, but it could use some work, in my opinion. I'd draw some new grass and do a completely original pattern for the ground. Background is extremely well put together for what it is, though, so nice job with that. :colbert:

Truly awesome level art, besides the grass, and the background that stayed in one spot, and the clouds as well. Overall, I think it is a great start.

I like. It needs some work, but it looks like it's shaping out well.

Also, are "Sonic 2 Retro Remix" and "Palmtree Grove" official? They just sound... kinda bland.

I started reworking on the grass as well as the wall tiles and I'd like opinions of comments of what you think, whether it should stay or not.
