Progress? Seriously? The only progress this project really has had so far was in the first two weeks on the other forums. Weather or not that progress was either good or organized can be debated. All that work has since been abandon, and all there is now is a few Sonic sprites and a very small mish mash of level art.

Chimpos so called leadership is just "Fuck you, it's going to be how I want it." While I respect him as an artist, I'm not sure how effective any leader can be with that kind of attitude. I agree that the way it was before Chimpo took over wasn't going anywhere, but it's not really going anywhere now either. Pretty much for the exact same reason it wasn't getting anywhere at the old forum when Phoebius was in charge.

I'm tired of people criticizing the old work so much, a lot of it was really decent. Phoebius wasn't a bad leader at all, just had a different approach.

I liked some of the older work too, but keep in mind that abandoning or replacing even completed work is not at all uncommon nor really a bad thing. The things that really needs to be addressed are creating a consistent art style for the level and prototyping all those neat ideas people are coming up with.

Not true at all—as Chimpo has said more than once, he is working in private to complete the base work on the Sonic sprite sheet. To my knowledge, he is under no obligation to share that with the board until he is fully comfortable with doing so. This hardly qualifies as "no progress," though.

If there's anything that Phoebius was without a doubt, it was a bad leader. Nobody—at least not I—was calling him a bad pixel artist; I admire his work quite a bit, in fact.

This is what I was talking about really, and not just Chimpo, other people have said similar things. "Actual life" was one of the big reasons the project came to a screeching stop on the old forums.
I disagree, his leadership approach could have worked if more people were willing to help contribute to the project. What he started was great, and he had got a lot of people excited. I also think that working on more than one level at a time was a better idea than what is being done now, however that is just my opinion.

I would say that for the vast majority of people this is just about school/uni. In the next month or so things will pick up again once the exam season is over.

There is nowhere else to post this, so I'll just leave this over here.

    Good news everyone!

Quit your whining kids. My life has made a miraculous turnabout and I might start full steam production on everything again this coming Friday. Get ready for a whole new wave of me insulting everything you contribute and why they're bad and why you should feel bad.

But with only two things being actually work on, there isn't much you can insult about. :words:

...Yeah, I'm going to stop bitching/whining/bitching now...
