So Sega Europe suddenly released 8-bit Bayonetta on Steam, which is a two year old Browser game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/567090/ Which seems like just kind of a lazy April Fools gag, except it turns out it leads to something interesting. The achievement images feature an URL that leads to this countdown page: http://www.sega.com/14111219 Which features Bayonetta's boot in the background. The actual countdown is broken at the moment, but still, looks like this might lead to a Bayonetta PC port. Sega Europe had teased last year that they are working on more PC ports, and Bayo would be a pretty good one. EDIT: Looks like the countdown will end on April 11th: http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=233139885

I know :v: Also funny that they're touting 4k resolution as a feature. It wouldn't be a good PC port if it didn't. EDIT: Engadget took down their article. Seeing how Sega's countdown for this is still going I guess they broke embargo. :specialed:
Page is up: http://store.steampowered.com/app/460790/ Only $20. That's not bad at all. EDIT: Launch Trailer. This looks so smooth at 60 FPS. Was the Wii U Port 60 FPS I forget http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hyw2h7VX8Y
Much like the 360 version, it targeted 60 FPS but mostly only achieved it during peaceful moments of non-combat. When stuff was actually going on, it usually hovered around 50-55.
Never because Nintendo. Also, Durante (guy who mods bad PC ports to make them better) reviewed the PC port for PCGamer and says that aside from some issues with some graphics settings (changing MSAA doesn't do anything, changing the resolution in-game causes rendering issue) it's a solid port.
It's fine, nobody paid attention to it anyway. :v: Also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laejK_ELZ1Y EDIT: Something interesting from the press release:
In case anyone was wondering who developed the PC port: credits show PlatinumGames handled the port, though one programmer from Little Stone Software (the studio that handled Valkyria Chronicles PC) helped out as well:
The only other game from Platinum Games that I've played on PC is "Metal Gear Rising". Now, that game has a funny little quirk to it. A lot of the game's functionality is tied to the frame-rate, even in cases where it shouldn't be. I can play the game on my PC perfectly well. However, when I visit my family and hook up my PC to the big-screen TV (Which I often do because my siblings like to play games with me when I visit), I start having multiple issues. During the chase segment with Sundowner running away, he gets stuck in the ground and can't move. During the Metal Gear fight, when Raiden gets tossed to the clock tower, the tower itself never loads and the entire game locks up with Raiden in midair. So, a quick question to anybody who's bought the game already. Are there any similar problems with this game? I've played bits and pieces of the game using CEMU, and it kills me how the audio in the cutscenes doesn't match up with the video. If I can play the PC version without any issues, then I'll probably buy it.
I've never really been too sure if I like Bayonetta or not. I still have the 360 demo I downloaded way back when, and I've played the Wii U demo of Bayo 2. I like the beat-em-up rhythm it has going, but I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on or why. Is that how I'm supposed to feel, or was there any rationale to fighting upside-down stone-face angel monstrosities on an infinitely falling clock tower?
That's definitely how you're supposed to feel. I think one of the iconic things about Bayonetta and Platinum's best games in general is the ridiculous set pieces they create that are purely for the sake of being ridiculous. We're talking about a developer who opened MGR by having Raiden run down a building, jump across missiles, and literally slice a metal gear in half.
I guess that means Michael Bay is in the wrong medium? :v: I just replayed the demo. It's just as crazy as I remember. Hard to say no at $20, considering the 360 version is still around that much, and this a better version.
You'd better off seeing how people feel about the PC version of Nier since it's the last thing they've done.
YES YES HOLY FUCK YES Oh god I can't wait. I was able to play a bit on my roommate's WiiU but I didn't get too far at all because class and shit took priority. I don't think the 2 disc collection is available anywhere right noe and I don't see Bayo getting a Switch port, so thats a shame. Still, this I'm looking VERY forward to. (edit: looking forward to it even thougu its already out because my PC is at home and I'm not till june :specialed
