Therefore, any quirks about Sonic's logo in that picture can be disregarded.

 

Yeah, but THERE is a serif on that C—just very unnoticable.

Also, I didn't know that the thing was oval shaped, either.

I thought that was just a resolution/colour depth limitation, that parts of circles end up rendered as straight lines...

Redemption games are basically those arcade machines which dispense tickets, which can be redeemed for prizes. It's standard arcade industry terminology.

 

Who has noticed that the emblem on the title screen is off-center to the left in Sonic 1? It was fixed in Sonic 2.

 

I did. I once wanted to make a tech hoax with a centered emblem, but I later gave up since I was too lazy to redraw the background accordingly.

There are many drawings of the title screen "starring" simular to that one. I have one of them that looks much better than the one we are discussing. Not to forget the trademark'd "HIS NAME IS SONIC" version.

Mine too.....Sonic the OFF-CENTER Hog....oh my god....

 

It is probably off centre to compensate for the fact that there is a border on the left side of the screen, which the right side lacks.

At least, thats what my Mega Drive suffers. Shining Force II actually has most of the game with a black 8 pixel border on the right side of the screen (Except for battle sequences) to compensate for, I am sure the Shining Force CD does this too.

So yeah, evidence to back my claim. :v:
