Cool, but I'll wait for the raw files :P Also, it'd be pretty sweet if you do this again once it's released on Steam(assuming it will be).
I plan to. It won't be that hard (unless the re-release gets fucked up files >.>), just gonna be tedious work to have to do it all again. And yeah, the raw files with a quick tutorial should be coming soon.
Been refreshing this page on the hour every hour for the last 14 hours; and it was definitely worth it. Excellent job darkspine35, this is one bad-ass hack.
I'm just assuming it will be since Sega has been porting all the Dreamcast re-releases to XBLA, PSN, and Steam. Nothing's been confirmed yet though...
Alright, sorry for the delay. Here's the raw files upload. http://www.mediafire.com/?q3ybavq9ekmnkxw The ReadMe has installation instructions, and everything should work just fine when using these. Enjoy!
This sounds straight lazy of me, but can anyone upload a full iso in a one-link direct download kinda situation? I'd love to give this a shot, but I don't have the time and dedication to download all them files.
Yeah, it'd be great if someone could do that! I would have done that, but I don't know where I could have uploaded it to.
This is an awesome mod Darkspines! It's a shame my Dolphin can never go above 20fps ;_; Anyway, I can't wait until the rumored HD version comes to Steam and then this topic can really take off. :specialed:
So yeah, were getting a PC version of the new port, w00t! Bumping because I guess this will become our General Hacking Topic once it releases. darkspines35, What do you got planned? are you going to abandon your console version hacking progressions and just wait for the PC port?
Pretty much. I did one thing with the console version a week or so ago but didn't mention anything because it failed. Here's what it was. It was an attempt to port the trial shoes so everyone who dislikes the Soap Shoes would have those to play around with. Something broke in the transition... His legs and body went all super stretch, and I couldn't fix it. So I'm going to put this model swapping on hold. But finding the shoes and whatnot has helped with figuring out the rest of the model format. So while it's still not completely understood, that will help with getting custom models off the ground when the game's released. As for everything else, I'm going to go back and attempt to figure out more on the materials. See if we can get further there than we did with SADX. That's about it for now, haha.
It's... Orange Julius' new mascot doing D-Generation X crotch chops? I see a three-way sponsorship in the works here.
I was trying to load Sonic's model. Still a few bugs to work out though. In other news, our good friend Arymond found this hiding in the Chao Kindergarten level file: It's the Library! It's found at 1014E4 in CHAOSTGKINDER.bin and is not referred to anywhere (which is why I didn't find it when I looked through the stage files earlier).
Thank you!! For the past 5 years I've been trying to get a better picture of that Library. Thank you so much Interesting question - is there a way to get that level to load in game? There's still text for that room, so maybe there's something else. Oh, and I assume there's no Playground? I never found anything for that either.
There is no code associated with the library, so the only way to load it would be to replace the layout of one of the other rooms, which would result in nonsensical object positioning. And Arymond was unable to find any other LandTable headers in the file, so no playground or black market. In other news, I fixed the UV coordinates:
So, I looked into the library files that come with the GameCube SDK, and adapted the code for loading .rel files to C#, and it seems to work... but the "ATTACH" structs in the level data don't look like either SA1 or SA2 format.
Thanks for the update MainMemory. I don't really know what you're talking about but it's fascinating all the same. Keep up the hard work!
Wow, the long lost chao library! thats some cool shit right there. I remember along time ago on X-CulT about the discussion about this thing, was it ever found out what the purpose of the Library was?
