Think about playing the Challenge Acts, but think about playing them with another person or team(s) online.

The Challenge Acts are already fun to play, but the ability to play them with others would keep me from ever ejecting Sonic Generations in favor of the game I just got an invite to.
Do you think something like this could turn Sonic Generations from a great Sonic game, into one of the greatest Sonic games? Do you think that type of programming is even doable?

It'd be a large patch, I can say that much.

But, I don't know if that'd really stretch the replayability too much (for me at least). I think after playing the acts through a few times, people'd get bored of it.

Also, the challanges would have to be changed substantially, seeing as they are currently single-player experiences... I don't know if a patch/DLC that large would even be allowed on Xbox with Microsoft LIVE's cap on download sizes... Steam could probabily do it, and I am unsure of PSN's policies...

Online play would be cool, but it wouldn't turn Generations into GOTYAY.

The challenge acts felt like weak filler to be honest, I don't think playing with a buddy would make it much better. I did like how the challenge acts incorporated some classic gameplay elements at times but it just made me wonder why these elements weren't being used in actual stages

The effort would be better placed in some Act 3's and 4's I think

Both are good ideas, though if Sega isn't gonna make new zones anymore why not have Online Multiplayer? I'm not just talking about co-op in the challenge acts I'm talking full on racing! I mean you could either have two Sonic's on screen or have one on be a different character, but with the same moves, on both acts! and you could have modern characters on the 2nd acts and classic characters on the 1st ones!

They already have Online Multiplayer. On the 3DS version.

The HD versions? I doubt it, tbh.
