    Hello. I was originally gonna save my last 2 posts but fuck it. It's not like I'm gonna become a full member anyways and plus the thing I was planning ain't gonna be until awhile so whatever.

    So it turns out that due to things going on in my personal life, I might not be able to work on this hack for awhile. Note that this hack is not cancelled, but rather it might maybe go on hiatus for a short while, I don't know what's going to happen. I was going to spend this weekend working on this, but after I wasted my time today working on something that eventually didn't work, I decided to just say fuck it and release it now. This is essentially just an unfinished broken alpha demo.

    Changelog:
    -Marble City Act 1 and Desert Dazzle Act 2 level layouts complete (stuff still needs to be done though)
    -New Idle Sonic sprite (thanks to LooneyDude for editing the original sprite)
    -Some random new art (though things are still needed to be fixed such as mappings)
    -Speed shoes not restarting level music when ending bug fixed
    -Some other shit I might have forgot about but honestly who cares

    I don't even know why I'm bothering on wasting my last precious posts on posting this when I can just post this at Discord. It's not like any of you is actually gonna look at it and actually say something about it. Unless I somehow magically become a fucking famous well known member that everyone loves or some shit you won't actually care. You would just go back to your SADX haxing or whatever and ignore this. Oh well. I need to sleep.

    Edit: Updated post with new version with fixed versions of all of Joenick's songs. All of you should go love him he's rad he did moosic for my hack.

    After becoming a trial member at SSRG again, I kinda forgot that Retro was still a thing, so have these images I already posted at SSRG but I'm sharing here anyways.

    Now it's time for me to copy-paste from SSRG:

    A mockup of art I worked on last weekend for the same hack as the one I showed screenshots of earlier. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a lot finished in time for Christmas, so I'll just show it now. Besides ring and HUD, everything is original and made from scratch. Sonic's art I know won't be in the planned demo, as it is very unfinished, but whatever.

    Anyways, onto the level itself. It's called Marble City (as it's built on top of Marble :v) and it's basically Not Studiopolis Zone... But with Lava. At the moment the only progress I did so far besides the art itself is that I imported most of the art (still need to import a few tiles I forgot) into the game, and I finished a few blocks and like one chunk. Ugh, this is gonna be a pain to make...

    Now it's time for me to disappear for 2-3 weeks until I get the demo for this ready.

    If you wanna learn coding, I recommend looking at Markey's 68k tutorials, they certainly helped me learn how to do stuff for my hacks.

    As for the elemental shields, you could try looking at the stuff in S3K's disassembly, and try to look at the code from there and copy it to S2. I can't help you with that, though, since I never hacked Sonic 3 and I have only did actual stuff in Sonic 1.

    Now that the contest is over, let's start getting back to work.

    Note: all of this was done myself in only 2 days.The foreground was done in Paint.NET, with the bac kground being entirely done in SonLVL. To add to that, I had to put this on Scrap Brain Zone, since the original GHZ is already taken. I based the BG off of the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show beta, btw.

    Please tell me the Studiopolis art there isn't stretched like in YESMEN's game.

    To be honest though, I don't see why you're doing this now. The game isn't even released and yet you're already doing something which seems like a modified version of the Sonic Worlds engine. Why are you even making this, though? There's already the Studiopolis fan game, and it's not like making a drop dash is hard or anything. I don't see the point in making an engine of what is basically just Sonic Worlds recolored.

    Anyways, I don't see why you're doing this, and why would anyone want to use this for their own game. It's just Sonic Worlds, anyone can just take the Studiopolis art and dump it into regular Sonic Worlds, so making a whole engine of it seems pointless. Though this doesn't look bad (at least from what I'm seeing from these screenshots, in fact it already looks miles better than the Studiopolis fan game, which imo, it was pretty shitty), but I'd rather see an actual engine instead of the same thing except with new graphics and 1 new level.
