I've remembered something I think I was misremembering: Vector floating throught the air with a bubblegum baloon in Chaotix. I was sure he had that as a double-jump ability until recently when I was checking out a couple of things from Chaotix and I didn't find it anywhere.

That Bubble thing in Heroes was kinda odd. Like, why does he blow bubbles all the sudden? That being said though it actually did make a return appearance in Sonic Forces Speed Battle. The bubbles are one of Vector's special moves.

Spoilers for the new South Park game (Sonic related):

That is amazing. Hell has South Park ever referenced Sonic before?

There's also that period either last year or 2015 where suddenly Sega was like "welcome the three eras of Sonic; Classic, Modern and Boom!" Can't remember what happened to all of that besides a single art book, but besides Vector's appearance in the cartoon getting some hub-bub, it does feel like there was something else planned.

It also gives credence to the thin theory that the OC in Forces may have originally been Boom Sonic, since the grapple hook is similar to the ener-beam in use and concept, and the Avatar is basically a gimped Sonic with a combat-focused weapon (who is suspiciously leaner and taller than Sonic to a degree).

That's a good theory also. The OC is taller than Modern Sonic, but so is Boom Sonic. Maybe the OC was Boom Sonic at one point, but when Boom Rol and SC were failures they had to change focus.

I bet this game will be more interesting years down the line once we know more about the story.

None of these changes break the game half as much as removing the Flickies as a mechanic entirely.

Well no shit. Flickies are the name of the game. Take them out and you have Sonic: Island outside of the US :v: There's also a hack that does exactly that.

Actually that's true too. The OC system could very well have been initially designed for some failed pitch, so as mentioned earlier, like Silver in Sonic 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog before it, it was repurposed into this thing.

Ugh I'm so conflicted with this game. I want to like it and hate it at the same time. It's like the Lost World version of Generations, and I didn't hate Lost World and I loved Generations, so this all sounds ok at least. But yea idk, I don't think I've been so torn on a Sonic game before. When Sonic 06 came out I was young and was still blinded by Sonic love. I bought it and it broke my spirit. Sonic Boom RoL came out and I immediately saw it as shit and didn't buy it. This though? I have no idea. This is all boiling down to Sonic R 2, Electric Boogaloo, which in my terms means a Sonic game that is pretty bad, but somewhat enjoyable when drunk. I guess that's worth a used or on sale purchase? Maybe? I have no idea.

Be 3 weeks from now please so I can see some fucking playthroughs my god.
