SEGA has announced that they have acquired Technosoft's library of video game IPs, which makes sense since they announced earlier today that they will be adding Technosoft's Thunder Force III to the new SEGA 3D Archives volume. Now we know that the reason for this is the fact that SEGA has acquired Technosoft's games. But what have they made? Not too much that is overly popular these days, especially in America. I would say Thunder Force is their most well known franchise.

Some of Technosoft's franchises:

  • Thunder Force (AGAIN!)
  • Herzog Zwei
  • Elemental Master
  • Hyper Reverthion

SEGA did say during the SEGA 3D Archives stage show that they are looking into reprinting Thunder Force IV, V and even Herzog Zwei. So now SEGA adds another lump sum of Japanese IPs to its already full belt line, what do you think of this news?

I wonder if this opens the door to a not-shit Thunder Force VII

I'm still in the process of learning to play S.S.H's Thunder Force IV track on my own geetar. I'm on track to be fully capable by 2028.

No seriously though. Thunder Force is the shit. Re-release it right now Sega, I'll buy three.

I wonder if we will get Hyper Duel considering that game is an excellent spiritual sequel to Thunder Force.

AirMech pretty much is that, though :v:

I'd love a new Thunder Force, but only if they get Hyakutaro Tsukumo back. TFVI's soundtrack was flaccid because of the music not being that amazing synth-metal (sorry Tamayo Kawamoto, I love your other work!) and the rest of the game felt off to me. Only redeeming factor was the one boss that did the Segagaga style transformation.

This is a really obscure request, but I'd love to see a remake of the first Thunder Force done is a retro style. I know it's not exactly the pinnacle of the series, but I've always been curious about it since it never made it to the west.
