The rules say that you need a Sonic Retro or SSRG full member account to submit.

Hey, I have a question. Can any member (besides people who are banned) submit their hack (When you guys start allowing submissions)? I've been thinking of asking this question for awhile, and when I tried asking this question to someone else I still didn't get any answers.

You must be a full member of either Sonic Retro or SSRG to submit, but those who ask a judge beforehand for permission may be granted the opportunity to submit.

Full details for this year's submission process will be posted on September 11th.

EDIT: Wing Fortress Trophy added for best cutscene in a hack. Somehow this trophy always gets neglected when people want it in the contest.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO SUBMIT!

In order to enter the contest, you must submit a playable entry by Sunday 9th October.

Remember that there is a further week for updates to be made - all updates must be made by the deadline of Sunday 16th October. Those marked as Incomplete at this deadline will not be considered for the contest.

Alright people, initial deadline's coming up fast. All entries need to be working and have either an uploaded ROM or an offsite link to the submission that will remain up and will not change. Entries can still be incomplete until next week, but time's coming soon on entering. We're working on fixing submission uploading, but until it's fixed, we'll have to make do with what we can, so if you're having submission issues, use an offsite link. If an entry does not follow the rules, it will be marked incomplete and will not be part of the contest. Get those hex editors warmed up and chugging through the final hours, people! We're expecting good stuff this year, so don't disappoint!

Just to pass the message on and as a general reminder - if you're a trial member or otherwise cannot submit due to not being a full member, please contact one of the judges and we should be able to grant an exception to you. We've given exception to a handful of people already, so please don't hesitate to contact us.

As people have been confused with deadlines, we are making Sunday the LAST day before the deadline expires. In other words, you can still enter to the contest on the Sunday and not worry about not being able to submit.

The cutoff has to be manually done and will be done whenever Cinossu wakes up Monday in the BST time zone so get your stuff in this Sunday and remember the additional week for updates.

If anyone STILL needs permission to enter the contest (those who are not Full Members of Sonic Retro and SSRG) please post a comment in this news entry and we can get you permission as soon as possible.

We are aware of some site issues that need to be fixed. If anyone has been having problems uploading or attaching an external link, please post a comment in your entry's comment area with the URL and it will be manually attached to your entry.

A reminder that TODAY is the last day that submissions to the contest will be allowed. After this, no new submissions will be permitted but existing entries can be updated until the end of next Sunday.

Remember, if you are having issues uploading your entry, attach an external link that will lead to the actual download for now.

If you are unable to add an external link, put it in your entry's comment section and we will manually upload the entry (size permitted) to our server at the end of the updates deadline.

Alright, we're in the final hours. From this post, you've got around six hours, as it seems I'm the one pulling the plug this year. When it's midnight my time (UTC-5), I'm flipping the switch, so get to it if you haven't and still plan to.

TIME'S UP!

No more new entries can be submitted to the contest. If you didn't enter yet, too late, come back next year.

For those that did, remember that you have the additional week of updates you can make up to the end of Sunday 16th October.

Hey everyone!

The contest is going great so far, but just a quick head's up! We've come across a couple broken links for hacks that have been submitted. Needless to say, but if they are broken by the time the week grace period is up, your hack will be removed from the contest!!

Just go in there real quick and make sure that your links are working alright. A majority of you all are okay, but we can't be arsed to send everyone PMs right now. We need to be judging instead.

Thanks for your attention and good luck!!

A reminder that everyone who has submitted to the contest has until the end of Sunday 16th October to refine your entries for judging which will commence after this deadline.

You must have your entry marked as either Public or Partial-Private by this deadline or your entry will not be judged.

A list of all the entries for this year's contest will be displayed once the deadline is over. These entries will be able to played at the Contest Week from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th November.

More details about the Contest Week will be made available very soon, we have been working on getting the streams lined up and also sorting out issues with the website.
