Holy cow. I've actually never played the first or second game, but I'm shocked and excited for Shenmue 3. I guess this probably won't be the ending to the series anymore...
Also, do we know if Sega is involved at all? Will Sega be the publisher?
Edit: Oh it's Sony... :/

It might not break Pebble Time's record of $1 million in 49 minutes, but it's only been 30 and it's half way there. There's no doubt now that it's happening.
Haven't read through the page yet, will go back when the presentation is over. Not really liking the new character art style, hope they can go closer to the original. But it doesn't matter.
They're probably waiting to see if the kickstarter is a success before they get involved. You'd imagine they must be involved in some way - Who owns the rights?
So... Is SEGA not involved in any way with this? They've made sure not to imply/deny such a thing in the whole campaign page.
The game page is listed only to YsNet on the copyrights, but on the other hand I'm told the SEGA logo was in a corner during the presentation (I didn't watch it) so I've no idea

This is better than anything, and I mean anything announced at E3 by leaps and bounds, HOLY- Really hope this thing gets all the social media buzz and journalism's noise it needs to see the big finale in the trilogy funded.
Also, one comment on the Kickstarter page was like, "I just barfed up $175 as if by command.", and lots of people are saying they'd up their pledge if a physical PS4 copy is on the table. You know the sheer demand for this game is real.
I really want some sort of rerelease of the first two. I never owned a Dreamcast or an Xbox, and I don't wanna come into the story with no idea what's going on.
