I only found out about it when I made my previous post. Maybe I need to work ahead and have an entry for next year's compo :P

Alrighty folks, since submissions and the update window has now passed, it is time to release the official list of who entered. I would like to apologize for not getting this out earlier, especially with it being such a small list, but we've been busy with school.

The list will have the name of the homebrew, author, and Submission status. Bear in mind, incomplete entries are not include in this list.

Ooooooooh, now that makes sense vladik's "hack" aren't in SHC hack list.

Really awesome.

Why there aren't any results for the Sega Homebrew Competition?

The results have been finalized since the Sunday results stream, and I have discussed posting the results with SuperEgg. They should be posted very soon. Sorry for the delay.

Our first ever SEGA Homebrew Contest has come to a close. This year was an experiment to see if people would actually bother with this contest, and a few did. We the judges would like to thank all who submitted their work into the contest. Though the response is small, be expecting it's return next year; next time with better advertising, showcasing, and hell of a lot more hype!

Anyways, here are the results...

BEST IN SHOW FOR MUSIC
Sonic Warped - Vladikcomper
Runner Up
Dune Razor Missions - RazoZen
BEST IN SHOW FOR ART
Sonic Warped - Vladikcomper
BEST IN SHOW FOR GENERAL GAME FLOW
Sonic Warped - Vladikcomper

Once more, thanks to everybody that participated. You not only showed you had interest, but also the talent in doing something with Mega Drive. We can not wait till next year to see how y'all would push the boundaries. Along with you, the people participating, we the judges will push this contest to the next level.

As far as when this contest will be announced for next year, keep your eyes peeled and your ears perked to the Sonic Hacking Contest 2016 thread that will be going up eventually. We share most dates with them, so just in case I don't get around to posting it on the 2016 Sega Homebrew Contest thread, that thread will serve as your place for deadlines.

Thank you everybody and see you in a year!

The Sega Homebrew Competition is a week long celebration and competition to showcase and promote users who work with making games outside of the Sonic Series

And a Sonic Series homebrew wins the whole competition. Sounds wrong for me.

RazoZen, while I understand it seems awkward, there's not really any restrictions on content, so entries with Sonic content or design are fair game. I want this to be clear: All the entries this year were quite interesting in their own way. It just happened that there were four sizable hacks against one sizable homebrew/hack mix that tried to feel like a Sonic game. Remember that the whole point of this event isn't to win some stupid award; it's to show off really cool things that people have done and bring more attention to them. Just because the judges found one project to be in their opinion more intriguing in three particularly vague areas does not mean everyone else's entries were terrible or uninteresting in the slightest. This was the very first year of trying something like this, and there's *a lot* that we're learning from this and will apply for next year, so please bear with us.
