Jingle All the Way (Arnold Schwarzenegger): A Man-size Sonic Costume is seen dancing along with other characters on the street before the parade. That was really cool back in the day I was like "OMG Sonic :D!".

And there wasn't a bajillion, maybe 4 or 5 (and another 3 on Dreamcast)

Right, there were only 5. I was confusing it with the Gundam stuff.

Waitasec, Puyo Puyo Tsu in NGE?

If you look closely, it's actually Poyo Poyo.

Evangelion was Sega sponsored, as I recall, thats why the Saturn appeared so often. There were also a bajillion Saturn eva games.

This was true for Death, Rebirth and the End of Evangelion. The original tv series wasn't sponsored, as far as I know, and if it was, the product placement would have been explicitly Sega, rather than "Seca". And there wasn't a bajillion, maybe 4 or 5 (and another 3 on Dreamcast)

It's actually Stevie's Sega Saturn if I'm not mistaken, not Malcolm.

I remember this quite vividly. Malcolm was bemoaning how out-of-date the Saturn was. I think it was the first time I was made to feel old.

I think Malcolm was referring to how the games were too "childish" for him, not necessarily how old the system was.

Actually, I may be able to do a page on Sega references in popular music:

Del the Funkee Homosapien - Proto Culture
311 - Brodels
Viktor Vaughn - Let Me Watch
Lupe Fiasco - I Gotcha
Lupe Fiasco - Go Go Gadget Flow
Pavement - Robyn Turns 26
We Are Scientists - Altered Beast
Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy
Notorious B.I.G. - Think Big
Goodie Mob - Cell Therapy
Asher Roth - Cannon
Limp Bizkit - Jump Around
Lady Sovereign - Those Were the Days
Jay-Z - You're Only a Customer (More flavor than y'all can image havin'/ graphic like Sega Saturn colbert.png)

There's probably more than that, no less.

This video from about 1:50 has a bunch of dreamcast games on screens in the background (JSR, Shenmue, Space Channel 5, Samba De Amigo, maybe others). I recall seeing this back when the video came out lol. The video is chock full of product placement mind, so it's no real surprise.

I see a roman numeral II in a circle between the two words, which is similar to how they did the Tsu logo (a gold-plated 2 in a circle behind the two words), so do they actually play the game in the show? (On another note, I did wind up beating Tsu early this morning, lol)

In an episode of Rosanne, DJ wants a Super Nintendo for christmas and both his parents and grandmother gets him one. So Dan hooks the one that they bought him up in their garage, and Mark says "Oh is this like that new game that just came out, the one with the hedgehog in it?" I can't recall what season the episode aired.

Drew Carey had a Sega Saturn on top of his TV

In the original Evangelion series, when Asuka gets all depressed and hangs out at Hikari's to avoid going home, she plays a "Seca" all day. The design of the console is pretty much a Saturn.

FUCKING THIS! I So wanted to share this but wouldnt have known where to find the image. thank you so much Eggfan.

In this episode, Augie the Adorable Aardvark looked very similar to the video game character Sonic the Hedgehog. Some of the attacks that Gynok used while in the form of Augie were also similar to some of the attacks that Sonic had in various video games and animated programs.

That Thanksgiving episode of MegasXLR with the Macy's Parade thing. Sonic parody Augie made an appearance. link

They don't show any gameplay footage, the screen is just blue. The music playing is a slightly different version of some background music from an earlier episode of evangelion, so Asuka's probably playing one of the many evangelion games.

How could I forget this!

In the anime series "Genshiken", some characters are playing Puyo Puyo Fever on a PS2. They even talk about it, Its kinda important for the plot of that episode.

They also play Guilty Gear, a LOT, but that's Sammy :P

Any of the UKers remember "Dr.Zitbag's Transylvanian Petshop"?

There was an episode where Dr.Zitbag was playing a game called Chronic the Warthog!

Pretty sure they helped out until episode 20. Some bitter fans talked about it once over at eva geeks. Though I haven't been on that scene for awhile to know for sure.

Most of those that I know have already been said. :P
