Oh god, how could I have missed that? That's just amazing!... I really like that concept, it follows the fake eggprison idea very well.
But maybe it could have some work on the eyes.

As much as I like these designs, I can't help but think the colouring and shading used makes them look more like they belong in a Metroid game than Sonic.

Really, when compared to the majority of other designs as posted in this thread, they've the potential to look so out of place used alongside them in a completed level.

Yeah, I think the exploding walking bomb is a better idea, just because it's a bit more challenging, especially if there are a dozen in one go, it'll keep Sonic on his feet :rolleyes: Also, there is kinda' a walking Bomb Cliche in the Sonic games.

The walking time-bomb idea is even better. However, could you edit those numbers in the fake monitors to give them the digital alarm clock style (To clarify, all the numbers are represented in line segments, like what you have with the 3 in the animation)? I personally think that would look cooler, and it would fit in more with our mechanical enemy cliché.

I don't like that drill-like thing in the center of the sign's face; it makes the face look very cluttered. The eyes show some promise, though; I feel like they open up some opportunities to give it some expression.

7) potential Industrial style zone spring for if/when we do one since I liked it =P

I think it will be better for the Metal Sonic signpost if Eggman changes to the kind of "EEK" face that he does when he gets hit. I also suggest that Metal Sonic should flash up more since you can only see him for a split second. :) Other than that, amazing. I think it'll be a pretty good idea if you had a level that was kinda' creepy and just turned the game "On it's head" kinda' like on Metal Gear Solid 2 how when you get into "Arsenal Gear" then the codec goes all creepy and the "Fission Mailed" part etc.

Hmm... Maybe the eyes are too much robotic, but they do not look bad. However get rid of the nose

I am in full support of the multiple spring design concept. Not only that, but the spring redesign in itself is rather fitting and well-done—good job! :)
