After my Droid 2 froze changing a background image, and I could not shut it off with the power button, I removed the battery and attempted to restart it. Unfortunately, it now won't go past the boot screen, the one with the robot eye. Attempting to connect it to the computer starts up the bootloader, which I have no idea how to operate. Windows cannot find the "S Flash OMAP3630 MI" driver when connected. A quick web search doesn't bring up any meaningful results. I took it to Verizon and they said I was out of warranty, so replacement is out of the question for the forseeable future. Is there a way for me to fix this thing, whether through rooting or external factory reset a la Windows install disc?

  2. I suggest taking a look at this. It's a guide on how to install the CyanogenMOD firmware onto your device, but it begins with a guide on how to downgrade your firmware from Bootloader mode, so by following that part, you should be able to reflash a valid official firmware image, then you could either install CyanogenMOD, or stick with official firmware.

    Any idea what that means?

Fixed it with a hard reset. Although I lost a lot of my stuff that wasn't backed up on the SD Card, at least I didn't have to buy another phone. Thanks for the input SoullessSentinel. Lock please.
