Hmm…

In the early 2002 I bought a Sonic & Knuckles Mega Drive game in a rental store that was going out of business.

At this time I ever has heard about the Sonic prototypes and the Dust Hill.

But this box art is bothering me:

I've seen this a long time ago on Sonic Cult.

I've had the opportunity to buy this a few times now. I have no idea why they made the back like that, it's surprising pirates even knew of early game screenshots :P

I also first saw this years back on Sonic Cult. It's nothing more than pirates just being weird.

Yeah, I got this same one too, actually, just the cartridge...But It has that green sticker...I suppose it was really common in our countries, like some other cartridge like Sonic Jam 6 (got that one too haha) and some other ones like Sonic The Hedgehog 4 for Snes...

The reason for those 'Sonic 4 Mystery' captions is because they actually used an EGM magazine page verbatim as the back cover :P I forget the issue number, but it was one where they were previewing Sonic & Knuckles

I love how it features Western Mohawk Sonic on the same cover as ordinary classic Sonic. :p

I have this. Bought it about ten years ago (in Russia). It's missing the Lock-On slot like many pirate carts, by the way.

I must've seen a S&K pirate when I was a kid, because I used to think there were two version of Sonic & Knuckles: One with lockon and one without (that I presumed was cut down for a lower price).

I love how none of the shots are actually from S&K. And that Knuckles is tiny, and off center.

I have this exact pirate, but I lost the paper that was on the box.
