Is there any way to dump/backup a SegaCD RAM cart?

I know there are devices to read Genesis carts, but I don't know if anyone ever devised a way to backup A SegaCD RAM cartridge, which was basically an external memorycard for SegaCD games. I don't mean the cart's bios itself but the contents of the cart in order to basically backup/restore the save data on it.

Some have told me that they managed to make some very old cart dumpers that were current back when the Genesis/Mega Drive ITSELF were current such as the Interceptor Mega Disk, that while they were not intended for that functionality they just happened to work with it by chance, but attempting to track down a 26 year old and rare cart dumper that would likely cost in the four figure range is not really realistic or feasible.

And yes, I know the Ever Megadrive X5 and X7 can function as a SegaCD RAM cart, but that doesn't really give me any way to backup the saves off of my existing RAM carts, especially since there were some games that could create saves too big to fit on the SegaCD's internal memory.

So are there any ways or suggestions to dump/backup the contents a SegaCD RAM cart somehow?

In theory, any cartridge dumper should be able to handle the RAM cart. The RAM is mapped at $600000. Note that it's an 8-bit RAM chip, so only every other byte of data will be valid. (I don't remember if it's odd or even bytes, or if it's duplicated on both addresses.)

The Retrode should be able to dump it, but I don't know if the current firmware supports it. The firmware isn't open-source, so adding support would require someone with code access and a RAM cart to implement it.

Yes, I heard of devices not intended for this purpose managing to perform a successful backup purely because they thought they were dumping a normal game, though flashing this back is a whole nother story..

I wanted to know if anyone knew of either any easy way to do it, or hardware designed to do it. While I do have a cart dumper it doesn't work for dumping the RAM carts and I lack the Audino programming experience to try to make it work.
