Just announced by Sega Amusements at the 2018 Amusement Expo, is Transformers: Shadows Rising- a sequel to the original 2014 game, Human Alliance.

Looks to be another rail shooter with the same gameplay and characters, though the graphics look much nicer and is probably using new PC hardware. It also takes inspiration from Namco's Deadstorm Pirates by having an extra controller in the middle for quick-time events, although the prototype shown at Amusement Expo is using a Up-Down shifter seen in Sega's racing game cabinets.

Rumours have been that their next project was a shooter, even before Daytona Championship USA was released, but it's taken them incredibly long to actually announce it- the game is now 75% complete- and I assumed the shooter was HotD Scarlet Dawn, but it looks like we're getting 2 now.

Thanks to Arcade Heroes for the video and blog post.

Strange, at least considering the Transformers film "canon" is meant to end this year. Wonder how long this was in dev for

I was thinking that too. I don't know how long it's been in development for, but the rumours for it first came up around last year in the arcade industry. I think it's more of a case of bad timing really, who were Sega to know that the series was going to be rebooted.
