This release is waaaaaaaaaaay overdue... I've probably neglected to add a few things that I should have, but for the moment, this will do nicely. Included are a shitload of new music locations, so if you're already familiar with music editing, you'll do well with these. Anyway, the guide can be located here, so... w00.
Sheer brilliance! Thanks for the new pointer locations. :P These will come in handy in many hacks. You should update the wiki if you haven't already...
I noticed there is no info for porting into Sonic 2.. Is it even possible? I'd like to port a few from moonwalker to sonic 2... =P
I. Love. You. =P Though the format is for msword. I don't have that, so I'll have a blast tomorrow converting it to txt. =P
Make a music conversion guide for dumbasses like me =P Nah, I'll figure it out eventually, hour or 2 maybe. I must get that Palmtree panic zone music in my hack though. MUST! Nice work Tweaker. Yet another fun guide to learn and live by when making hacks. w00t.
No, it's RTF with a DOC extension. Why, I don't know, but it's RTF. It should be plain text, however, as it'll save about 6KB, and there's nothing in the document that requires RTF. If it bothers you, load it into Wordpad and resave as straight TXT.
Hawt damn! :3 I'll check this out later, I have the previous version saved, so this'll be good! ^^ I will eventually get the hang of this stuff...I think...XD
I was talking with Tweaker on AIM about this issue (as LocalH correctly stated, it's an RTF with DOC extension), and I converted the file to pdf, but he didn't upload the converted version yet. I guess that I should upload it by myself, sorry for rapidshare, but I can't host it elsewhere. http://rapidshare.de/files/31688416/Sonic_..._Guide.pdf.html I hope this can help Mac and Linux users; while I use Windows and Office, I realize that some super 1337 hacker may prefer something in an open format
This is awesome. Tweaker FTW. Now I actually have a chance of implementing this for my hack. You don't happen to have any info on porting music from Sonic Spinball, do you?
Wow. I feel honored to be credited in this. This is looking great, Tweaker! I really should hack Gunstar Heroes more though...
Hate to burst your bubble, but it is impossible to import most SCD songs, as they use CD Audio. Only the past songs would actually work, and from what I've heard, those're still a severe pain in the ass.
I remember something like that but I haven't had my chance to play those beta's in ages, Where's the link to grab them?
well, you can find several ISOs here: http://www.sonicstrike.net/users/sonicroms/ the page may be off-link protected, just click on "isos" in the higher tab
Or get them in better format (920) and a better server here: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?sho...ndpost&p=139793
