MA-13? Basically a T rating? Really? It's not like Wily Wars was more violent than your typical Mega Man game...

That boxart is fucking hideous. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want children seeing that.
Oh, we've had worse. =P

Embedded so everyone knows what we're talking about.
I tipped Protodude off about this one. Megaman looks so angry about the fact that he's either Mega-constipated, or trying to take a Mega-dump.

The Blue Bomber is BACK. BUT HE'S PISSED OOOOOOFF. [/billhicks]
That expression is priceless. I like how pretty much any attempt at Americanized Mega Man art just falls totally flat.

Don't you guys know? For a game to sell in America, the character on the box has to be furious.
Go look at any of the GBA Kirby games.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror... sword, angry expression, late 80s/early 90s looking cellular phone getting ready to call some of his boys to take something out... looks like he's either a mobster or someone out of San Andreas.

Damn, I'm so glad now that we got the Japanese cover.
Pretty amazing to see stuff like this surface, those mentioned transparencies were the same thing as the prototype pictures magazines received from SEGA. Who knows if some high resolution scans of Sonic 2's prototype zones will be surfacing as well one day.

Except you wouldn't be looking for scans.
In the days before digital prepress made anything you wouldn't be embarrassed of, press kits sent to magazines would often use slides, which could project images that scaled up or down depending on what the layout designer wanted for the page. These pop amongst third parties every so often, but I've never seen any Sonic ones yet.
The more you know.

This cover looks funny as hell. To bad we never got this back here.
