I've got a simple project underway to modify a standard Lindbergh arcade board for use in the home (much like the Neo Geo MVS/AES system, or consolized Atomiswaves). Once I've finished my prototype, I intend to gather some niche market interest for cash loaded collector's looking for the mythical "Dreamcast 2". Once I've finished documenting the internal specs for Sega Retro, I have 5 machines I intend to mod and sell, and if there is continued interest, I might have a little hobby business making some more. But I need a cool name, something cooler than Dreamcast 2. Ideas I've had so far: Sega LindCast Sega Dreambergh Sega Orteig Sega Uranus Sega Kuiper Belt Anything else?
Name it after Osiris; the Egyptian god of the dead, but also the god of resurrection. Death and resurrection seems like a pretty good theme to base a Dreamcast successor on. SEGA Osiris. I like the ring of it myself but I wanna see what other people come up with. Whatever you decide, give me a ring if you need some cheap/free graphics work done for it. I'd love to help you come up with a logo and type treatment.
fixed. Literally 2 Dreamcasts scotchtaped together. So yeah, "Dreamcast 3" was also a name I was considering, just to confuse people.
I can even imagine a mock-90s style TV commercial with this as the backing track
Sega Morpheus. If the last console merely cast the dreams then the God of dreams will be exponentially superior.
I did think of that. I wonder whether I should be thinking other famous aviators... Sega Kingsford Sega Montgomery Sega Hughes Sega Wiley Sega Quimby Sega Corrigan Sega Weston Sega Earhart Sega Amelia + - Sega Fokker Do you think the Lindbergh was named after Charles Lindbergh as an obtuse reference to the UK:Resistance "Blue Skies in Games" campaign. This only occurred to me recently when Sega recently trademarked "Liberation of the Blue Sky"
