    It's that time again!

For the past ten years SAGE has been a beacon of community activity. Starting September 18th we will be continuing the tradition - and you're invited! We are gathering Sonic fangames and related projects of all types to be featured at SAGE to help promote them. If you'd like to register your project (free and easy!) visit http://sagexpo.org/ to details!

We do more than just promote Sonic fandom! While that's our primary focus, we are always happy to include non-Sonic related projects. There's usually a few Mario games in there, for example... or completely original works. Our goal is to bring amateur gaming communities together, so we are happy to invite anyone that wants to participate!

And the events! As usual we're trying to get some additional community involvement by running some events for those who might not really be into the game creation scene. Usually focused on art and other non-technical activities. We're leaving the details vague for now since we want to keep some of the competitions secret a bit longer.

Last but not least, SAGE is happy to help promote the independently run Sonic the Hedgehog Hacking Contest 2011 which will be having a community voting period during SAGE week. If you're reading this, then you're probably a member of the community and can get a chance to vote for your favorite hack!

More details to come as we continue to coordinate. Hope to see you at SAGE2011!

This is gonna be epic as all hell. Hopefully, we'll be in for cool games this year. In fact, I have a friend making a fangame that'll be appearing in SAGE2011, IIRC. It's called Project Float. Hopefully he'll release a SAGE-exclusive demo.

To shed some light on the games, I'll be streaming them on Justin.tv (or Twitch.tv) and recording for Youtube. I'll be doing this for RAGE2011... if RAGE is done this year.

Takenobu Mitsuyoshi? The Daytona USA/"Game Over Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah" guy? Friggin' sweet. Really curious as to what he's been up to lately.

RAGE only took place every year since it was Slingerland's thing. From what I've been told, he is not getting involved with SAGE this year, so don't expect RAGE from happening unless someone else from this year's SAGE team takes over RAGE.

If there is still support for RAGE, then maybe something could take place. For now, don't get your hopes up, you could still submit it as a SAGE booth.

Someone needs to bring back RAGE for this year. I was already planning on one or two possible titles to make for it.

As for SAGE? Ergh, hmm, umm, we'll try.

While Sonic Construct Worlds/Aria of Destiny won't be making a showing this year, I plan on getting done a new demo of Digimon World Legends, this time re-done in Construct 2. While the functionality and content won't be much different from the old demo, it'll be playable right in the booth due to it being HTML5, and it's got a music select in the options menu.

    We'll see how it goes.

I guess I won't need to suggest my idea of making your own Sonic 4 Episode II then. Good to know that you're still committed to doing it this year.

RAGE better be happening. One of my friends from SRB2's chatroom, Blitzzo (he made Sonic and the Yellow Jogger in last year's RAGE), had a plan concerning that that could potentially make it the best (worst?) RAGE ever. I'm eager to see if he can pull it off.

And, well, I kinda want to make another entry in the Sonic in Weird Acronyms For Friggin', Like, Every Subtitle series.

..I see what you did there. :specialed:

I love all those games by the way, Shadow Hog. I (not kidding, seriously do) play GROWABEARD and DEARGoDWHY every other day when I'm deprived of any activities. :v:

    I wish a sequel to Commander Squiggles would come out, man. That was the best RAGE game ever. ;_;

I most definitely won't miss out on this. Sadly, I may have to stick to just downloading each and every game, then begin playing, so video posts may overlap past Sept 24.

I entered SAGE once or twice, first was back in 2003 when I was 12 :P
There's no way I could come close to the standard these days without using Sonic Worlds :(

Also on a RAGE related note, I entered the first with my SAGE 2003 entry. Think I got an honourable mention for it crashing on anything later than XP

About time we hear something about SAGE and the voting week of the 2011 hacking contest! Now I'm just waiting to hear about Retro Channel v1.0 :). Guess we'll hear about it at SAGE...

Shit, that's tonight! Dumb question, but if I register my two Sonic breakout fangames TONIGHT, will I be able to have my entries in SAGE?

    EDIT: Answered my own question

    ARC IMPULSE CONCERT

Monday, the 19th, at 9PM EST

Nick “Nario” Hagman is a man of many talents, however he is perhaps best known for his ability to successfully play and beat videogames entirely using a Dance Dance Revolution dancepad. He'll be performing a special for us for SAGE on monday so be sure to check him out.

Tuesday (or I guess technically Wednesday) Night at Midnight EST, Nate Horsfall will be giving his demonstration on Animation on our videostream.

Nate Horsfall is a freelance animator who has worked with several major studios such as EA and Backbone Entertainment, where he worked on Sonic Rivals 2. He will be providing a demonstration of animation where he'll show you from the basics up how he works. A mustsee!

Wednesday Dom's Videogame Improv Show at 9PM EST.

Dominic Cerquetti is a regular guest of SAGE and a man of many talents. Besides his nack for the most exquisite of fanfiction, he runs one of the most awesome conventions in the country (MAGFest), runs an entire Rock Opera production troupe, performs in the videogame cover band Rare Candy , is a prominent game developer who works for Big Huge Games and formerly Firaxis (boot up Civilation IV and look at the credits, he's for real), and is quite possibly the fastest keyboard shredder on the planet. He's even in a Daft Punk Cover Band, and is so important that something as simple as getting a haircut becomes an earthshattering event.

As you can tell Dom's a pretty busy guy, but he also is known for his ability to regurgitate pretty much any videogame song ever from memory, and thats what he'll be doing for us Wednesday at 9PM EST. Meet legend. Be in #sagexpo, tell him what to play, and he'll incorporate your tunes into his medley.

Oh, geez, I hadn't been checking properly until now, and I just noticed the former deadline - nearly gave me a heart attack, that did.

Anyways, looking at the iframe dimensions, I doubt the HTML5 canvas will be able to fit in that, I'm trying to replicate the DS dual-screen for my game, so it's 320x490. Better use a splash page, then.

    Edit: SUB-MITTED!
