And that marks one of the last updates on Eggman I'll do for now:

Jetzac and Love.self.hate both contributions will be gladly accepted.

Let's focus on Emerald Hill Zone for BG art.
Next week I'll start Sonic frames and by the time this program will be in use we'll hopefully have a compete level art and frames to play with.

Also, let me just say you're doing a fantastic job so far Vincent. Lesser men would have been tearing their nose hairs out at all the critique that's been posted. They'd be like, "t3h miN0r ch4ng3?! omgz!!!!". Nah but seriously, great job.

...But you only changed that shadow in his shirt. =(

Oh well, here's another version with the small few changes I'd make.

Basically:
-Right hand removed.
-Head and mustache shape.
-Left foot, leg and nearby shadows.
-Right leg and foot made a bit less stiff.
-Trouser line made less curve.

What do you guys think?

Bigger version here:

Can you stop changing the goddamned mustache? The only reason it's so bland in Sonic 2 is due to palette limitations, not due to a stylistic change. Besides that, it's evident that a majority of the people in this thread prefer it ANYWAY.

Hey, ICEknight, would stop changing mustache and removing the right hand? Let's not blindly follow the original sprite.

Same goes for the glasses being black instead of blue, and the cape being orange.

I would have never imagined it after reading the topic.

ICEKnight's mustache shape seems slightly better now (The left side in particular seems bushier and more even).

-I'd like to know your oppinions on the mustache's shape. I've tried to keep the original's shape while not adding too much detail to its shadows, so it looks more cartoony than realistic.
I definitely agree with that - I'd noticed it earlier on, but wasn't sure how to describe it.

So, I'm sorry if the mustache I posted offended anyone. =|

Your mustache looks like a chocolate splash or something. The left part's shape is wrong to (in comparison with the original). And why do you make Eggman's head smaller? It's clear to see in comparison with the original as well.

I was asked to make it darker, so I made its color look like the original.

Because I think it looks more like the original character this way. It's not a conspiracy or anything, really.

It lacks details and shading. Way too simplistic.

The main reason I posted it was to show the shape, not the shading.

Here is Sonic's first standing frame,

Being a base one it'll be used onto next frames, I'm waiting for your suggestions to improve it faster and better.
Meanwhile, I hope you like it as I do.

:)

P.s. This topic's name is a little bit misleading, couldn't it be completely renamed into SONIC 2 HD HACK?
