If you have a Switch, you can get a demo of the Japanese version from the JP eShop.
It's a nice demo. You can even play 4-player multiplayer if you want. Feels a little silly to give out an unlimited demo that gives you the whole meat of the game in one place, but hey, I'm not exactly complaining...

Specifically speaking.

  • Can play Vs. or Swap
  • Arle, Amitie, Ringo, Maguro, Risukuma, Klug, Sig, Suketoudara, Rulue, Raffina, O, Tee, Ess, Zed, Ai, Jay & Elle are playable.
  • Can play up to 4 players, both humans and CPU
  • Compatible with Joy-Cons, both separate and grip, and the Pro Controller.

It's different from the demos provided at events for the record.

So...The US Switch physical version comes with keychains in it's box, but apparently, exclusively at Target it also comes with two sets of decals.

Anyone buy the game from Target? Key chains + decals are only from first print copies though.

I got the PS4 version from Target and it came with just the decals.

Only the Switch version came with the keychains, I'll edit my post.

EDIT: Assuming you haven't taken any of them off, mind scanning them for Sega Retro?

After playing the demo for a bit too long on my Switch, I caved and downloaded it. First Tetris game that I've ever bought, and the first time I've ever really gotten at all into Puyo either. It's absolutely great. Can't see myself buying another game if either series (as if we'll even get another Puyo here...) so long as the Switch is still relevant, but it was surprisingly well-worth the price of admission.

Coming to Steam February 27th! 10% off pre-order.

I caved and bought the import PS3 version 2 weeks ago because I don't own a PS4 or Switch. Can't wait to play it in English.

I'm still bummed out that they never translated the 3DS version to English. I take my 3DS with me on car trips more often than the Switch.

As it turns out, you're in luck*!

Nice! Hopefully someone will add the Mania MBM board/music too. (Mania Sonic/Tails/Knuckles/Eggman would be nice as characters too but I think that's probably a bit much to ask considering you'd need to animate something entirely new for the cut-ins...)

Technically, people started modding the PC version the day it came out.
There are a few Mean Bean Machine-related mods:
Background
Voices
Puyo Skin

I'm not a big fan of Tetris (at least in more "pure" forms), but I admit that this one looks quite appealing. I would probably buy PC version... On GOG. Since it's Sega - it won't happen.

What is BGM 45 from and why can't I find it uploaded anywhere? It's just such a delightful earworm.

Seems to be an arrangement of Song of Puyo Puyo from Puyo Puyo 7, which I *think* (as in, don't quote me on this) is itself an arrangement of Theme of Puyo Puyo, which dates back all the way to the first Puyo game. (Totally not confusing.)
