This was awesome, like a dream come true.

Less things would look odd if you simply made Vector's Spines use the Red Sonic Did, And Based on his color pallet Eggrobo would make a fine Eggman replacement, Since Vector doesn't use any flesh tones.
Mind you those bright pink Choppers and Crabmeat do look kinda awesome.

As others have said can't wait for the Sonic 2 Edition that's if one is even on the cards, I don't envy the guy that makes the corkscrew sprites...

Bug wise, I haven't seen anything... had a few issues reaching a switch in Marble Zone Act 2 (The one in the small gap early on, that opens the press thing) I couldn't fit in the gap easily.
Also does Vector have a lower jump height? Seemed like it, but I guess the Shoulder Bash makes up for it.

Well that is my five rings I'm off too play some more and ponder why Vector is so freaked out on the Labyrinth Zone water slides.

I approve of this. A Sonic 1 hack with every Sonic character possible put into the game. :3'''

  4. Why don't you make Cheese like in this hack?

    Glad you like it. :D

I wanted to keep Vector as authentic to his original sprite as possible (though I did lose at least two shades of color due to 32X's more advanced pallettes). I can fix Eggman and some of the other bad guys to an extent (basically to the same quality they are in the Amy hack which had similar problems) I'm just getting most of the basics finished first.

I might make a Sonic 2 hack later on, right now I'm a bit preoccupied with my current projects however and don't want to add too much to the pile (though I MIGHT experiment with Charmy at some point).

Yes, I was trying to make it authentic to Vector's stats in Chaotix (albeit translated to Sonic 1's slightly looser physics) where he is a rather heavy character. The dash moves I suppose were meant to balance it (with the upward dash acting somewhat like a double jump) along with stealing Knux's climbing move. I've almost got the diagonal dash moves programmed in too for the next revision (par a few tweaks), we'll have to see about climbing abilities however.

If people have suggestions about the pallette as well as his stats (some have pointed out possible differences it has from his Chaotix mechanics) you can discuss it and I may look into it (the red I admit isn't that noticable on his sprites).

Just jome random pallet experiments I did, Vectors colors look really good on Eggrobo and the Sonic 3 Eggomatic.

It's an interesting idea but I'm trying to keep the game 'as is'. I can edit Eggman to use another pallette line to resemble his normal scheme more (as said how he is in S1 Amy).

    * CURRENT PROGRESS *

    * Jump dash works diagonal directions now (special thanx to MarkeyJester).
    * Good ending fixed.
    * Fully refined spin dash (oddly enough this seemed to fix some sprite problems here and there as well). Adding the dust sprite however corrupted the star post.

I might add in the title screen and then upload another revision.

I had an idea like this, but it never got off the ground.

Also oh snap, you got diagonal directions in? Awesome!

can't wait to play the newest revision! :D

PS: about the spindust, this morning Markey and me came to the conclusion that the only way to make the starpost lamp to work correctly is sacrifying the badniks small points :(

Hmm, maybe I'll just back track and take out the dust sprite. It's not hugely important anyway (Chaotix didn't use it anyway, having a strange particle variant).

Anyway, hopefully won't have to wait to long for the next revision. Also have been doing a bit of experimenting:

Already gotten the basic physics working (again thanx to MarkeyJester's coding). Might need to alter his descending speed however, along with his size radius. Wonder how hard editing the game's 'gravity' is.

And yeah, he does 'break' the game immensely. :D

  12. Are they going to be in the same ROM or released seperately? Either way, that's pretty slick!

    Thanx. :D

Separate projects, though inserting Charmy in a duo hack may be possible due to his small sprites.

Just out of curiosity, how are you getting character statistics — this?

    OMG!!!!!

Thank you thank you! Glad to know you got those working, and can't wait to try out the new version.

And seeing Charmy there = <3 And I love the fact that he's gamebreaking. XD

I suggested a while back that to balance him out, maybe you could make him SLOOOOW underwater.

Try this code which can be found in the cheats section on the wiki
FFFCEA:000? Attachment To Partner Modifier (0=Not Attatched, 5=Attatched).

It makes it feel old schoolish.

Guesswork really. There's no real porting involving.

The thing is Chaotix also seems to have much clunkier and heavier physics than the original games which makes it harder to define according to Sonic 1, which is much looser and faster in terms of controlling.

This is sweet. I've played it and it runs good for me I may need to do this on my YouTube channel. I need to do something since I just finished Sonic 1. Thanks dude!

I found a Tikal in Sonic 1 hack. All she was was a sprite edit. Not very well drawn either. A bit too neon looking.

There is also a Ray (the flying squirrel) in Sonic 1 hack where he can glide. However he cannot climb like Knuckles or fly into enemies without getting hurt.

That pretty much leaves Charmy and Nack/Fang from the original 2D characters.

And maybe Bomb and Heavy if anyone actually cares about them.

Anything after that is pretty much diving into just retrocizing (new word I know) newer characters. Although Cream also started as a 2D character as well.
