Nicely done. Good choice of music and I like the multiple pathways through the level, reminiscent of classic Sonic. The graphics have a current-gen shine to it that adds a lot to the proceedings.

Look at that, someone cares!

I'm glad you pointed out the multiple routes, because there are lots of routes and hidden goodies throughout the game.

That's good to hear! Also interesting to see that you're using 3D for the Act 3 segments Adventure-style instead of the Sonic 4-esque 2.5D like the rest of the game. Any reason for that?

Every Act 3 in Incursion is tailored towards a certain gimmick or unique style. For example, Sunkissed Shore sees both characters using a jetski. Some levels have a different Act 3 for each character, like Pegasus Paradise Zone, where Metal has a full 3D level inside the Metallix Control Ship, whereas Sonic...well, I can't give it all away, can I???

This explains why one Act 3 is in full 3D Adventure-style while another is more in the vein of 3D Blast. Definitely interesting and adds a uniqueness to the game. Though I'm not the greatest fan of the 3D Blast style, I get why you did it. It's a fun homage to an experimental Sonic game from the past.

There is only one Act 3 that is "Adventure Style", and I haven't shown that at all yet. The snippet of 3D gameplay in this video is actually like a Sonic 2 Special Stage - the player is being forced forward at all times.

The rest are 2D but with some kind of gimmick or unique feature. I didn't want to utilise 3D too much, as Incursion is a 2D game at heart.

Ohh I gotcha. I mistook the 3D gameplay in the trailer as being an indicator of the "Adventure Style" when it wasn't. I understand now.

Also, I greatly appreciate you using the Sonic 3 boss music for your game (albeit in remixed form). Greatly underappreciated boss theme that has stuck with me longer than anything else related to boss music from Sonic. That alone gives you a thumbs up in my book.

Thank you. I have since changed it to the Time Eater theme...but that Sonic 3 Remix does appear at some point in the game ;)

Nice homage to Sky Chase Zone and good to see Tails show up to lend some assistance. Quite an uncertain end for both him and Sonic at the end of the zone though.

I feel like some SFX were missing, particularly when Sonic blew up the jets?

They are definitely making a sound when they are destroyed (I just played the Act), but for some reason they're extremely quiet in the video.

Ah YouTube screwing with the sound I hate that. :/ Glad to know it's not present in the game build though.
