So, for some reason, when I downloaded the Sonic 1 disassembly master, it didn't contain the "Artnem_U" folder. It contained the compressed counterpart, "Artnem", but no uncompressed version. (which I need in order to edit Sonic 1 art) Could someone reply a fix or at least a download of a usable "Artnem_U" folder? I'd greatly appreciate it, and it'd allow me to get started on my project
I wouldn't use TSDC, as I recall the original KENS implementations are known to be buggy. I'd use something like FW-KENSC or KensSharp's command-line tool or shell extension
Most tile editors don't support compression. Sprite and plane editors do support compression, but they don't generally allow you to edit tiles directly, only import art from an image, if they even support that.
Don't use TSDC. If you want to batch-decompress files, you can use a for command in the command prompt with either FW-KENSC or KensSharp, or install the KensSharp Shell Extension, select all the files in Explorer, right click, and select KensSharp -> Nemesis -> Decompress.
I selected all the files, and when I hit "decompress", I got a ton of KensSharp crash messages. What happened?!
Either you used the wrong option, the files are not compressed, the files are corrupted, you don't have the .NET Framework 3.5 installed, or you've stumbled upon a serious bug in the program.
