Looks can be deceiving.
Everything's a work in progress, especially the music. Tweaker offered to do music for me months and months ago, but I told him I wanted to wait until the game was a lot farther along before I worried about music. But, uh, well, yeah. I will probably need a new musician at some point, but I'm not even going to think of that just yet.
Obviously, the boss isn't done. I have concept art sketched out, but it's just a matter of finding time to implement him. I really need to get off my ass and do more on this game, really, but I've had other commitments that have come first.

GONNA MESS AROUND. CAUSE I CAN.
Edit: NVM.

Truly brilliant game. I don't think you need music at all, the gameplay was so good I never noticed.
Other people should follow in this fan game's footsteps.

Project:Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
I really enjoyed playing as Modern Sonic. Further enhances my feeling that boosting and/or homing attacking should be shield abilities, atleast, when discussing classic gameplay.

For some weird reason, the game just freezes when trying to get into any of the stages as anyone. Not sure why, it just does.

Oh, cute. Well I figured something was up when the download finished almost immediately.

18mb is pretty small for a three-act demo, I agree.

Wait, it's not a joke? I guess I'm not running it properly? I thought all the other posters in this thread were 'playing along'. Ick, sorry if I offended you man. This is hands down my biggest Retro dick move. Note to self: stay away from here after consuming anything even remotely resembling alcohol.

This was quite nice, and I like your take on the various shiny particles. Nothing really seemed wrong with the gameplay, it all just kinda worked. It felt natural. The Modern Sonic option there was quite interestingly fun as well. Although, I couldn't figure out how to get past the "hack detection" at first, because I was trying to use my 360 controller's d-pad. Apparently with the analog disabled, you kind of have to use it regardless, and with it enabled, the analog nor the d-pad works.
Save for that relatively insignificant controller issue, this was very nice, IMO.

I love this, the whole thing feels very nostalgic, and I love the way you put the advance music in there, it fits in very well and helps with the nostalgia for me.
Oh, and fantastic use of effects too, brilliant stuff!
I just saw - the music is probably a placeholder, but anyway, still.

You mean the level select and debug codes? I know how to do them with a MD controller, but I don't know which of the many buttons on my keyboard correspond to A, B, and C
