I'm confused about something on Sonic Adventure's "Game Secrets" page. (On the Sonic Retro wiki, of course.)

They mention the unused tunnel in Casinopolis, but seem to claim that Tails can fly through the ceiling of the first area and land in the tunnel. I've tried this a number of times (in the XBox Arcade version), but can't get through. Any help here?

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
That might've been one of the few fixed bugs in the XBLA version.

LOL, that figures.... I slammed against the ceiling for a half hour and couldn't get through. (Even tried getting up there from on top of the rafters - no luck.)

It's somewhat harder to do in the PC version of SADX, which is what the XBLA version basically is. That would be why. Works perfectly fine in the Gamecube version of SADX, though. (Same goes for getting Tails into Emerald Coast)

Yeah there was some updates in bug fixing when the PC/XBLA version of SADX was being ported. but 1/2 of the glitches from the DC version are still on the GC version of SADX. some have been reworked but are still assessable.

But if you want some real glitching fun, pick up a DC version of SA1, and this guide (DX) or this guide (SA1) by local retro members, and go to town!

Btw, what happened to the sonic adventure glitches guide homepage?

    I know right?

Ran across the old geocities site while I was searching and seem geocities closed down permanently. guessing rattleman can get his old old site up and running once again.

Does the 'DX' version have the screwed up areas in Big's stages?

I remember being able to find points where sections marked as 'water' didn't always line up right, and you could actually fish from the floor. There were a few in Ice Cap, and for sure some in Hot Shelter.

Strangely enough, the Hot Shelter ones made the fishing tougher, but Ice Cap's made it damned easy.

Damn. I'd love to see the Inverted Station Square. I can't get that to work on the XBLA version.

The glitch seems to imply that there's a small space inside the station door that doesn't automatically load the station interior - mine loads it as soon as you enter the doors.

Well, I can confirm that these bugs do still exist in the XBLA version...

    * Completing Speed Highway, and jumping on the pillar outside City Hall to make the gate of the nearby storefront come down
    * Taking Knuckles into the sewer by jumping through a wall near the City Hall doors
    * Taking Tails into Emerald Coast by standing just outside the hotel doors and flying over the hotel
    * Taking Knuckles into Emerald Coast by wedging him between the barrier and the Burger Man
    * Standing on the slanted ground outside of the hotel (angled down towards the beach) as Knuckles and making him moonwalk towards Twinkle Park

I'll see what else is still intact. Incidentally, on that big list of glitches, there's a point of interest to check out that they call "Unused Part Of A Level?" You have to glide across Windy Valley as Gamma and stand on the ledge above the boss battle, where you can supposedly see an unused part of the level. I assume they mean the grassy area across the chasm... which isn't special at all. Sonic usually crosses a bridge to that area before getting swept up by the tornado.

Also, is that list implying that the area of Hot Shelter reached by pulling the plug (as Big) is some sort of beta area that wasn't meant to be accessed? That's the impression I got - and that couldn't be more incorrect, because you're CLEARLY meant to fish there.

A few years ago, I actually decided to go through all of the glitches from the DX guide. It literally adds hours of replay value to the game.

  12. I probably won't be getting the XBLA version of SADX anytime soon, but if I do, I hope Knuckles in Twinkle Park still works. That's hella fun.

It's bitch to get him to the track without dying, though. :argh:

The glitch to get to the sewers still works, the pain is getting the camera around so you don't fall to your death.

I was following the SADX guide earlier and had no real problems with the Knuckles in Emerald Coast glitch other than the statue of the man loving to disappear under the ground and usually taking Knuckles with him so I can assume that most of the bugs from the PC version are still present in the PSN version.

No it's not. You just fly toward the life icon. The camera will do strange things, and then the track will appear.

Yeah, the Burger Man loves to get swallowed by the ground all over the XBLA version.

I'm also afraid to walk up to the news stand.... my characters have a bad habit of dropping through the ground for no reason in front of there.

Has anyone managed to get Amy into Emerald Coast on XBLA?

Seems that Sega put in gratuitous boundaries to keep you from getting her behind Burger Man, if you put him on the left side of the gate.

Or you could fly toward the second red star system on your left. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOLiCBJFcYQ for positioning.

I personally can't get Knuckles in Twinkle Park, but that doesn't mean it was removed either.

The closest I ever got was clutching the wall behind the "Twinkle Park" sign, and gliding to the right side of the room. Whatever I did (I was no longer on camera) made me fall through the wall, but I just fell to my death.
